Great location. Great views

  • 4 of 5

House was comfortable but in need of major reair in some rooms. Bathrooms were attrocious (holes in ceiling, walls, tiles missing, sink and towel bar and tp holder falling off the wall etc. deck needs some work too. Some boards warped and sticking up (tripping hazard) and a lot of rudt on the support brackets and bolts. Oh and the Ice Maker doesn't work. The kitch was very nice, the beds and pillows were very comfortable. House just needs a little TLC.

Location, Value and Serenity...

  • 5 of 5

Visited with my Family (kids from 7-15), my parents (70+) and My Aunt and cousins (50-70+). The house had everything we needed with a perfect location. Walk to the village to get ice cream or look around the shops, a few steps and you're on the beach. Note that high tide is longer than low tide, so time on the beach is limited to a few hours in the morning until just after lunch (I guess this varies, but keep this in mind if you want a lot of time on the beach). Another note is that there is no "sandy" sand at low tide, but there are lots of cool critters to seek out. We did this most days, looking for shells and checking out all the hermit crabs. With the mixed ages of our group, this was great for the older crowd. They could thoroughly enjoy the ocean without having to travel anywhere - or even walk off the deck. They could sit in the shade and enjoy the breeze and watch the dolphins, which we saw lots of, watch the cargo ships travel by and watch people when the tide was out.

If you are looking for top end "everything," this will probably not be what you are looking for. That said - it has beds, kitchen and bathrooms necessary to keep you comfortable (only one TV, so bring a spare if you have kids). It has a carport for one car to shade you from the heat. It has location (BIG TIME) - town, pier, lighthouse, the local pool area (which is pricey in my opinion - $8 each, even for the adult that isn't swimming but is required to watch the kids - and this is a daily price), the pool is best for smaller kids.

We drove to a beach on the other end to get some sand and surf time. It was just about a 10 minute drive to a "kid beach" where we could play. We also drove to Jeckyl Island to see the Turtles, driftwood beach and other sights - about 40 minutes away.

We would definitely come back and enjoy this rental again!

This vacation home is absolutely stunning. It met all our needs. Location is the best. The big front porch with all the rocking chairs is the best place in the whole house as far as I'm concerned. Sitting on the porch is the most tranquil place to be. Sat their for hours on end.. This home has our stamp all over it and we will certainly be returning.. Thanks for allowing us to enjoy you little bit of Heaven..

Breath taking, relaxing, OUTSTANDING!!!!

  • 5 of 5

The most relaxing view. Love drinking coffee on the deck watching the sunrise (breath taking). Did spot a few dolphins, watch the boats come right by, walking distance to the pier and village. Will definitely be going back.
