Wonderful Mountain Retreat - 4WD/AWD/Snow chains are a MUST

  • 5 of 5

Lynn and Scott were great hosts! They provided clear and thorough instructions regarding all aspects of the cabin. As they emphasize multiple times, 4WD, AWD, or snow chains are a must during the winter season. We drove up while it was snowing in a truck and two crossovers with AWD and even then, we were worried about not making it up the road into the community. Our cell phones lost reception in the mountain so do not rely on your phone for navigation. Scott and Lynn provide detailed instructions in getting to the home which we followed to the letter without issue.

The home itself was wonderful, incredibly comfortable, clean, and filled with great amenities. The karaoke machine was awesome. Our dogs enjoyed roaming the outdoors, and we had fun singing our hearts out without worrying about the neighbors.

Talk About RELAXATION!

  • 5 of 5

Found this location on HomeAway, and WOW... What a place. When folks say that this is a remote getaway from it all, they aren't kidding! Leave the Verizon cell phones and computers at home; no use for them here. Waking up to the fog over the valley below, to the afternoons snoozing in the hammocks (if the dogs would let you stop throwing the ball long enough), to the fires outside after awesome sunsets, so many reasons to just relax! Scott was great with answering questions, and working on any minor issues we came upon. Three families with dogs and kids all did great. The kitchen was the best stocked one I've ever rented, and we loved it. Just bring your food (and DRINK!). Wish it weren't so far away, but may just have to make the return trip again in the near future. Absolute gem!

Love love love!

  • 5 of 5

A group of us just went this weekend. This place is stunning beyond words. The house is beautiful and well maintained. The paintball course was phenomenal. The fire pits, hammocks, yard, porch, sunsets... All of it was incredible. The land and inside is very well taken care of. The house is completely secluded with the caretakers home in view in the distance. The views are also amazing. The owners of this cabin have kept in complete contact with me from months before the stay and even after. They answered any questions quickly. We had a small pipe leak and the caretaker was there in less than 15 minutes to address and fix it. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. There is a karaoke set up, along with a button you can push to turn on speakers outside for the TV and stereo. This has been, hands down, the best place I've ever stayed. Not just because of the cabin itself, but because the owners are also wonderful people.

Ideal for so many reasons

  • 5 of 5

We originally desired to have a small outdoor wedding at this location in the fall which would have been perfect! However we ended having to move the wedding up and staying closer to home so we decided to have our honeymoon at the cabin. We did invite a number of guests to stay with us for the first night and everyone just thought the cabin was perfect. A few guests had stayed at other cabins in the area but said this property was by far, the best they had seen yet. Everything you need is pretty much provided, except food... but they do have tons of seasonings! We pretty much wanted for nothing. I would only recommend that travelers bring a cooler to stop for food along the way because it is not a quick trip to town. Everyone in town is quite friendly by the way.

There are so many activities at the property that you always have something to do from indoor board games, ping pong/pool, horseshoes, hot tub, tether ball, tv, etc. Around the area we hiked, and fished but there is also over 500,000 acres for pubic hunting nearby. Wished we could have been here in the fall - so we may just have to come back with our hunting crew! There are many sights to catch nearby as well which made for nice day trips.

We were also very fortunate to be able to catch a meteor shower during our stay which was so delightful because there is almost no light pollution which made for an amazing viewing.

Highly recommended. Hope to return.
