Beautiful, very clean vacation home. The kitchen is completely new and fantastic! We walked to center city and the water front in about 30 minutes. A wonderful family trip, celebrating new years.

Wonderful Xmas Holiday

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect place for our family of four to get together for Xmas. The house is comfortable and very well equipped. The location is also ideal for a short walk into town and just a bit further to the beach. Great for stretching the legs after Christmas lunch...

Nice nice home at the shore

  • 5 of 5

We booked this home to spend a long weekend in Point Pleasant to celebrate a Christmas gathering nearby. It was really perfect for our needs: Close to where we needed to be, allowed us to have our dog with us, a perfect size with all the amenities we needed. It is an older home which had been updated extensively but allowed the character of the home to stay intact. It was spotless (although upon entering we detected a bit of a musty smell- we thought perhaps since it was off season at the shore, maybe it hadn't been rented for a bit? Or simply because it's an older home?) with everything we could need. The linens and towels were soft and comfy feeling. Although we did not need to bring our own linens and towels (which can happen with a shore home we have found), we did not need to launder the sheets but did need to wash/dry and fold any towels we used. Perhaps that can be noted more clearly in the online description of the rental or in the pre-arrival info? Had we known we needed to launder the towels, we would have brought our own. Not a huge issue but worth noting. The kitchen was very well set up and outfitted with whatever you may need to cook if you so desired. The decor was lovely, minimal and cozy all at the same time. The owners were easy to deal with and responsive to any questions. We would have loved to use the outdoor shower and the outdoor spaces but December weather in Central New Jersey was not going to allow that. Loved the fenced in yard for our dog and the dog bed and pet bowls that were available for use. And loved the welcome bottle of wine provided by the owners. A really nice touch. We would definitely rent this gorgeous home again! Thank you Darlene and John!!!

Owner's Response: Thanks for posting your review. We value your feedback and recommendations. Our home is an older home and does have an "old home" feel and scent, but I can assure you that it is not musty. We pride ourselves in providing a clean, fresh home for each arrival and always double check things the day before check in when we drop off the complimentary bottle of wine. As for the linens, we have tried several different options over the last 10 years where we can still provide our guests fresh linens for their stay and still offer an 11AM check out and a 3PM check in. (As this only leaves us a 4 hour window between guests, we were requesting our guests to launder the towels to save on time.) After further review, we will no longer require our quests to launder any linens. This has been updated on the hospitality suite. As a convenience, we will now send both the check in and check out instructions to our guests upon booking their stay. Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at "Point Beach Hideaway". Do come again! "Warm & Cozy"

  • 5 of 5

I visited the home for my daughter's wedding and made a fabulous choice. The home was so cozy...it was updated nicely but the original charm remains. It was so nice to feel like you were in a warm home. Arrangements were easy and the hosts Darlene and John were very accommodating. The bottle of wine was a very nice touch. I definitely will be back!

Overall, I highly recommend the home if you are visiting the area.
