A true sanctuary tucked peacefully amid a bustling summer harbour town, this home blends modern conveniences with old world craftsmanship. Enjoy early mornings in a beautiful glass house that spills out to a bluestone patio that is perfect for an evening cocktail. A short walk through the historic district brings you to town or Owen Park where you will have a birds eye view of Vineyard Haven harbour while enjoying the town band on select Sundays throughout the summer season. A short dive away is Tashmoo beach, public tennis courts and Mink Meadows Golf Club.
Our family had a wonderful stay at this lovely home. It is well-maintained and very comfortable. It is a beautiful and unique house, lovingly built by the owners. We loved the outdoor shower. The greenhouse is a bright and inviting place to sit in the morning. Plenty of a space for a family of 5 with games and books for the kids to use. The location is great. It is a short walk to town, the beach, and West Chop. The owners are very responsive and helpful. The cable and WiFi work well and are easy to use. We LOVED our stay here and can't wait to come back next summer!
My girlfriend, her teenage son and I stayed at this most beautiful house for a week. We don't know how we will top this vacation. The kitchen is beautiful! We cooked on the grill a few nights and walked to town for shopping, and eating out. The beach is a short walk also. We took the car all over the island but came back "home" at night to relax and get away from it all. Ended our nights with wine on the patio while her son enjoyed the free wifi! We loved the peaceful yard and outdoor shower! It is a great location and very close to town. We think it is just the perfect place to stay on the island. Thank you so much Tricia for making us feel at home.
This house is absolutely perfect for those who want to be close to the Main Street of Vineyard Haven (short walk) but who also like some privacy after a long leisurely day on one of the many breathtaking beaches all around the vineyard. There is plenty of room, lots of privacy, and the home has a beautiful decor. I HIGHLY recommend this house for your stay.
This absolutely gorgeous home provided the best of both worlds for our family. Secluded & private feeling, but a short walk to town. As a family of 4 with young children, we visited with their grandfather and uncle. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Aesthetically pleasing in every way, from the home's custom construction by the talented owners to the tasteful & spare decorating. Comfortable inside and out. A cozy kids room with plenty of children's books, toys, & musical instruments for our girls. Every amenity we wanted...washer/dryer, patio, chef's kitchen. Such a peaceful & relaxing place. The owners answered every question we had before our arrival and was available by phone & text during our stay. Truth be told, I wanted to stay forever, but will have to be satisfied with planning for a longer stay next summer. Can't recommend highly enough.
We had the most wonderful stay in this beautiful home! We were greeted so warmly by the lovely owner, and given fantastic advice on all that there was to do during our week there - from fireworks in Oak Bluffs to the Agricultural Fair, the farmers market in West Tisbury, Grand Illumination Night - we did it all and loved every minute. The house is stunningly crafted, warm, modern and comfortable. The short walk to town and the abundance of shops and restaurants made it a perfect location. Our kids loved the yard - and were even delighted by the appearance of a wild turkey in the garden! A wonderful home, wonderful hosts. We hope to return!
Spacious yet efficient, modern amenities in a home constructed with the hands of a professional wooden-ship builder. The home proved terrific for my friends and I and likewise would serve wonderfully for a family. I suggest this home with my highest recommendation.
Martha's Vineyard is the largest resort island in New England. Roughly triangular in shape, it is 23 miles long and 9 miles wide at its farthest points and is about 100 square miles in land area. It lies in the Atlantic Ocean, 7 miles south of Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
The south side of the island is a straight, sandy beach, backed by ponds and salt marsh. The western shore is rocky and irregular with stunning views of Vineyard Sound and the Elizabeth Islands off in the distance. The eastern shore has flat sandy beaches and is delightfully protected from our prevailing westerly winds.
There are 5 harbours and numerous ponds and streams. We are fortunate to have many conservation and recreation groups that provide access to these pristine areas.
There are six towns on Martha's Vineyard-Aquinnah, Chilmark, West Tisbury, Vineyard Haven and Oaks Bluffs. Each town has its own very distinct personality where you will certainly find your niche.
