This spacious and charming cottage is located right on the beach and has some ocean views. Just step out the back door and follow the foot path through the dunes to the gorgeous wide open Atlantic Ocean! We are in a great location, less than 2 miles to historic downtown and all of the restaurants and attractions you could want or stay home and fish on the beach and watch the dolphins swim by. Built in the 1940's our cottage has been remodeled over the years and has all of the modern comforts but still retains it's traditional Florida beach house feel. The 3 bedrooms are carpeted and there is a queen bed in the master, 2 twins in the second bedroom and bunk beds in the third and each of the 2 bathrooms have shower/tubs. The open floor plan has tile floors and the kitchen is complete with refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and all cooking and serving utensils. Basically everything you need for a great family vacation! The décor is cheerful, casual and comfortable and the cottage is spotlessly clean! All bed and bath linens are included and beach towels, chairs and an umbrella are provided. The living room has a sofa and loveseat, a recliner and some occasional chairs. There is a TV, DVD player, radio, and we have wireless internet and a phone for local calls. The patio faces east and is sunny in the morning and shady and cool in the afternoons with breezes coming from the sea…perfect for the coctail hour! There is a table and chairs with an umbrella and a charcoal grill for cooking your fresh catch! We also have an outdoor shower and a coin laundry on the premises. Our cottage is one of the best vacation values on the beach and remember, we welcome your four-legged friends, too!

Don't stay here

  • 1 of 5

This was by far the dirtiest rental we've ever stayed in. Left after two nights. We would've left the first day if it had not been Fourth of July with no hope of finding another place. Everything is dirty. It needs a complete remodeling. The furniture was filthy. One chair had hair and dirt all over it. We had to sit on towels and sleep on top of the covers. There were dirty items in the kitchen (towels, pot holders), rusted toaster, light bulbs missing, dirty faucets, air filters have never been changed or cleaned. We even found a safety pin in the carpet. The laundry is an old garage used for hanging out and drinking. I have photos but see nowhere to post them.

It was a horrible experience.

In for a wedding

  • 2 of 5

I rented this house because it fit our needs. I was traveling with 2 special needs people and we needed a single level home. The pictures on line are not too far off other then when we stayed there the landscaping looked like no one had touched it in a long time. The walk path had loads of weeds and the weeds fabric was sticking out and made for a very annoying tripping hazard. The maintenance man was nice and met us to let us in and told us if we needed anything to call him and he would be right over since he lived right behind the house. Well, we ran out of toilet paper after a couple of days. I called him twice and he never even got back to me at all. They really need to tell you that this one little thing is not supplied as needed. It was a little thing that was really cheep of them not to have enough of. Also there were NO dish towels at all. Another little thing that was very annoying. The kitchen had enough supplies other then that. The location is very nice. Close to a lot of things including the beach. However, the house is over due for a tune up. Other then all the weeds in front, the couch and love seat had bad water damage. Made me think I was sitting on moldy seats. The rattan chair is broken and has a nail thats sticks you in your back when you sit on it. All three air conditioners are VERY old and VERY loud!! You can't sleep with them on unless you want to wake with hearing loss. The rug under the table needs to be tossed out. It is dirty and FULL of burrs that really hurt when you step on them. A rug under table and chairs is just a bad idea anyway. The door jams, front and back need to be replaced. They are both very cracked and rotted out. It is very hard to lock the dead bolt. Also the front porch light is broken. It made it very hard coming back to the house at night. People should also know that this house is right on a busy street and because it is a very old cottage with very poor insulation you will hear a lot of street noises. Bring ear plugs. If they would fix the things I mentioned I would stay again. The price and location was right. Over all, it was a place to stay and it was very nice being so close to the ocean. That was the best part of the stay by far. Beach as far as you can see in both directions.

Girls Getaway

  • 4 of 5

My sister a friend and I spent a week at the cottage. The house was plenty big enough for the three of us. The description and pictures of the house are pretty accurate. There's a large picnic table with umbrella on the patio. Large enough to fit 8 to 10 people. The cottage was very clean with the exception of the rug under the coffee table. It could use a good cleaning. The cottage is nicely decorated and welcoming. One of the recliners is broken. The other is pretty dirty. The couch and loveseat show signs of water damage. Even with that it was a nice place to stay. They don't supply much toilet paper so be prepared and bring some with you. The kitchen is well stocked. We had everything we needed to prepare our meals. We are hoping to go back next year, so yes I would recommend this cottage.

Perfect for my 40th Birthday

  • 4 of 5

This cottage was exactly as described. Bright, big living space, right on the beach. It is within walking distance of a Publix grocery store and 5-10 minute drive into the middle of St. Augustine.

It was clean. Lots of beach towels and outdoor furniture. Jill and Mark responded immediately to a false alarm with the refrigerator. Kitchen was surprisingly well outfitted.

The only drawback was the middle bedroom (bunk room). It has no AC or fan so be prepared to sleep with the door open.

Overall, I recommend this property. Very worth the rental rate. Myself, my parents and friends would rent here again.
