**The cabin is located on a steep and unpaved, mountainside road, so although front wheel drive vehicles do manage during the summer season, we strongly recommend AWD/4 x 4**

WINTER GUESTS: We provide snow removal/sanding on our road and driveway for your arrival and departure. AWD or 4x4 required during the snow season, generally a good idea during the winter months in the high country.

Why Jackie Hudson chose High Country & Blue Ridge Mountains

We spent years travelling around North Carolina's High Country as well as Tennessee in search of a mountain town that we could call our 'Escape Home', a place where we could recharge and spend quality time with our kids, as well as a place that fueled our love of nature and all things outdoor. Banner Elk met all of those requirements, and lucky for us we found a little cabin that was exactly what we were looking for. Adding a second Master suite and some other changes has brought our dream to life, one we can't wait to share with our guests.

What makes this cabin unique

Proximity to town ammenities while secluded and private. Loads of room to explore on and around property. Lots of entertainment options in the cabin, so rainy days won't ruin your vacation. The firepit, decks, pool table, games, wildlife and natural beauty of the property will recharge anyones batteries :)

Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We had a very relaxing stay in this secluded well appointed cabin. It was great to sit out on the deck in the morning and drink coffee and listen to the birds. We hiked all day and were exhausted each evening when we returned.

Perfect weekend getaway!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the cabin for a quick weekend getaway. The cabin exceeded our expectations and was extremely immaculate! Not a spot of dust in sight...kudos to the housekeeper!! Everything was perfect...well except the weather which no one can control. It rained/stormed all but maybe 3-4 hours that we were there. Normally that would have been a miserable trip BUT with all the extras that the cabin has, we never felt "stuck indoors". So very thankful for the outdoor covered fireplace room as we spent both evenings out there by the fire. It was actually pretty perfect and the rain wasn't an issue at all. And the owner was super sweet in leaving us a bottle of wine and the fixings for smores!! Very nice touch that most other owners would not do. I have stayed in a few other owner rentals before (not from the vrbo home away site) but I will say that this one has been the best experience by far! Jackie was in close contact with me before, during and after our stay and was very responsive and helpful with everything. She even checked in with me Saturday to see if we needed anything. We ran out of trash bags and within an hour there was someone at the door to drop off a new box! WOW that's quick service!! And lastly our security deposit was returned promptly within a few days. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a mountain retreat or adventure! We didn't want to leave.... We look forward to going back very soon!!

Owner's Response: Oh Crystal you are so sweet!! Thank you for the absolutely incredible review! We truly love sharing the cabin and feel all that happy energy our guests leave behind :) it makes it even more enjoyable for us. I was just lucky that amazing Teresa was out shopping when you mentioned the garbage bags, so she was happy to get right on that, lol! Sorry you had yucky weather, you'll just have to come back to enjoy it in the sunshine, and of course you will always be welcome! Take care sweet family, Jackie and Ben
