The private, safe, and uncongested neighborhood of log homes has quick and easy access to everything you want, and the peace and seclusion you need.

The cabin is located at 4000 ft. and on two acres of mostly wooded property with views of close and distant ranges. There is plenty of cleared flat land around the cabin, visible from the deck, where your 2 and 4 legged kids can safely play. Located just 5 minutes from Wildcat Lake, 8 minutes from Banner Elk, about 12-15 minutes from both Sugar Mountain and Beech ski resorts, 20 minutes to Grandfather and Hawksnest, 30 minutes to Boone and 40 minutes to Blowing Rock. Miles of trails are everywhere up here!

Cabin Amenities include:

• Wireless Internet; Smart Televisions accommodate Netflix and Vudu; and a Sonos sound system

• Coffee, Tea, Sugar, and Creamer as well as numerous spices, are complimentary

**The cabin is located on a steep and unpaved, mountainside road, so although front wheel drive vehicles do manage during the summer season, we strongly recommend AWD/4 x 4**

WINTER GUESTS: We provide snow removal/sanding on our road and driveway for your arrival and departure. AWD or 4x4 required during the snow season, generally a good idea during the winter months in the high country.

Why Jackie Hudson chose Banner Elk

We spent years travelling around North Carolina's High Country as well as Tennessee in search of a mountain town that we could call our 'Escape Home', a place where we could recharge and spend quality time with our kids, as well as a place that fueled our love of nature and all things outdoor. Banner Elk met all of those requirements, and lucky for us we found a little cabin that was exactly what we were looking for. Adding a second Master suite and some other changes has brought our dream to life, one we can't wait to share with our guests.

What makes this cabin unique

Proximity to town ammenities while secluded and private. Loads of room to explore on and around property. Lots of entertainment options in the cabin, so rainy days won't ruin your vacation. The firepit, decks, pool table, games, wildlife and natural beauty of the property will recharge anyones batteries :)

We were there during Irma.

  • 5 of 5

As soon as we walked in, we were totally amazed. The decor was amazing. I had two boxes of things that we would need. What a waste; the cabin was totally stocked.

We were there during Irma. Totally enjoyed watching the storm from the bed through the sliding glass door. Trees were blowing, but at no time were we scared. You could tell the cabin was well built.

We were worried about Irma coming to NC. Even though Jackie was in FL getting totally hit, she was at our disposal.

Thank you for a memorable experience. We want to come back.

Thanks, Mindy

Fabulous Mountain Getaway

  • 5 of 5

What a gorgeous cabin with all the amenities you could ever need. Jackie has done a lovely job with this place. We come to the mountains every fall for the foliage and very rarely return to the same cabin, but this one definitely deserves a return trip. We had everything in the way of weather, from sunny skies to tornado warnings and even snowfall. We were never at a loss for something to do. We hiked to several waterfalls and visited Banner Elk Winery. When the weather restricted our travel we stayed at the cabin and played pool or board games. We grilled out on the deck overlooking the mountains and cooked s’mores over the open pit fire. Jackie left us a bottle of wine and I think we’ve found a new favorite. We had a little confusion over our arrival time but Teresa was there at the cabin cleaning and couldn’t have been more accommodating to us. This was a very memorable trip.

Secluded, clean,well appointed

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was perfect for our getaway. Secluded yet close to Banner Elk.

Jackie does an outstanding job communicating prior to arrival.

The cabin was well appointed. Kitchen well stocked . Both full baths were clean and updated. Bedrooms were separated and offered privacy if more than 1 couple on trip

Deck had grill and ample seating.

The outdoor areas were really great. Open fire pit was nice. The covered patio was awesome. Wood burning outdoor fireplace with plenty of firewood and a tv

Best compliment is that the cabin does not feel like a rental.

A piece of heaven!

  • 5 of 5

We arrived to find a bottle of wine and the makings for smores! What a nice touch. The place was spotless, we had everything we needed from kitchen spices to coffee filters! Not all rentals supply the necessary items to get started! The cabin was beautiful! The rustic feel, the comfy beds, the outside fireplace and fire pit were all truly enjoyed. Thanks Jackie for making our stay perfect!
