This a brand new listing as of April 2015, and is managed by Paula Caballero of Frenchy Rentals. We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to Paris!
"Batignolles Market" is owned by American couple, Kathleen & Scott. Scott originally hails from Michigan and Kathleen from Massachusetts. After completing university studies in French and computer science, Kathleen opted for employment opportunities where both skill sets could be put to use. The opportunity to live and work in Paris arrived when she was hired as part of a U. S. company’s start-up operations.
Paula Caballero purchased this apartment in 2008
Over time, Kathleen & Scott were spending enough time outside the U. S. to warrant an investment, so they began searching for just the right Parisian neighborhood. House-hunting priorities included proximity to friends and a comfortable distance from tourist mayhem. The very French neighborhood of the Batignolles proved the solution! Upon seeing this apartment, they knew it was "the one." This two-bedroom apartment allows them to enjoy Paris in their favorite neighborhood, and share it with friends and family - and now, travelers, too.
With every imaginable option for dining and food shopping, plus convenient access to transportation, this corner of the 17th arrondissement never fails to further enrich their French experience. “Thanks to our Batignolles home,” Kathleen says, “we can live like locals in one of the great cities of the world. We feel a part of a social matrix that has embraced us and affords us an intimate, unique perspective on this rich and fascinating culture.”
We had a wonderful week in Batignolles. The apartment was great- clean and well kitted out with everything we needed and the location is superb. It worked really well for a family of two adults and two children (9 and 7) and I would wholeheartedly recommend it. The metro station is at the end of the road- so this is a great base to explore Paris- and there are some nice local restaurants and cafes. There are also a couple of local parks nearby if you fancy a stroll.
Paula and Karina could not have been more helpful. For example when the coffee maker broke, they ensured it was replaced immediately. They also gave great advice and tips on the local area. I can't speak highly enough of them, the apartment or our week in Paris.
Absolutely perfect week in Paris! The home was the epitome of Paris--wonderful neighborhood, lovely neighbors, charm of the home, and the list goes on and on. Very comfortable accommodations for two adults and our four teenagers. Best of all was Paula, who looked after our every need from the moment we inquired about availablilty until we checked out. The kids all fell in love with Paris, and it all started here with this great property.
If you truly want a Parisian experience this is the place! As we visited one of the recommended restaurants, the Crepery next door, the owner was surprised to see two American women in this area of Paris. We assured him that we chose to stay in the Batignolles Market area and that we were very happy we did! We got a very wide smile from him. There are plenty of opportunities to investigate the local neighborhood or hop on the metro to get to many of the tourist areas. What I enjoyed most was picking up some great French bread, cheese and fruit from the market across the street and having a great dinner with a bottle of wine at the apartment.
The apartment itself is very comfortable and plenty of room for two single women on the go! The beds are very comfortable and I just loved the way the owner decorated the apartment. It has all the amenities that you would need, free Wifi, TV with English stations and heat if it gets a little chilly outside.
Paula, the flat manager, guided me through the process from the day we inquired about it. She was very responsive to all of my questions regardless of what I asked. She also met us when we arrived and gave us all the information we would need for an enjoyable stay. There's also a very cool binder at the flat that helps you acclimate yourself to the area along with some great restaurant recommendations.
My friend, Latha, and I just love our stay in the Batignolles Market!
From the time I started to correspond with Paula (apartment manager) to the time we checked out, Paula's communication was clear, concise & comforting. She was prompt & thorough with her replies and made sure to answer every single question. She greeted us upon check in and toured us in the apartment & showed us how the appliances worked etc. The apartment is amazing! We were a group of 4 females and there was plenty of room. The bathroom was luxurious, the beds were comfortable, the amenities were perfect. The whole apartment was immaculate. The kitchen was fully equipped however, we did not use it as there were plenty of places to eat in the neighbourhood. Paula took the time to instruct us on the metro and points of interests. She comforted us by offering to contact her at any time for anything! Paula is professional and knows her craft well. The metro was a short block away from the apartment and was easily accessible. The Paris Centre was a mere 15-20 min ride from the aparment. And bus is also an option (1 ride to Paris Centre) We felt safe the whole time we were in the apartment even returning home late nights. The apartment is across the Batingnolles Market which offered an abundance of produce, meats, cheeses and a grocery store. There were also plenty of bakeries, cafes, restaurants that were easily accessible and close (literally steps away). After exploring the busy streets of Paris and sight seeing it was ideal to come home to a quiet, safe neighbourhood. Will definitely use any apartments managened by Paula!
A last minute choice for us, yet Paula, the apartment manager made herself available. We were greeted with a bottle of wine. A fully equipped kitchen, with enough coffee for the whole week! Supplies for the dishwasher and the washing machine. Two big rooms.
If you want to sleep in though, you need to be in the one with with the two beds.
We had a wonderful stay, will go back.
I found our stay to be very pleasant, roomy and convenient to the metro (1.5 blocks). The rooms are clean and well-maintained. Paula was very accommodating, organized, pleasant and helpful. The neighborhood was very nice if a bit utilitarian. The only issue I had was in trying to figure out the washer/dryer unit, which is slow and difficult for me to grasp, in spite of Paula's good instructions.
I would recommend this unit.
Batignolles neighborhood, a wonderful village-like community tucked in the 17th arrondissement of Paris. The apartment is on a market street with lots of wonderful shops and food stores, and is directly across the street from the entrance to the Batignolles fresh food market which is open daily.
