The Bunkhouse is located .3 miles from the Blackfoot River Brewery and downtown Helena. The extensive trail systems funnel into the Bunkhouse allowing for easy access to 75 miles of single track from the front door. The historic property's character and location makes it an ideal spot to overnight for those visiting our community. Roof top decks make a great spot for morning coffee, meals or cocktails.
I loved this house. We stayed for two nights and couldn't have been more comfortable. Oh and I lost my glasses, but they found them and shipped them to me! Such nice folks!
Eliza was fantastic to deal with, the property was just as described - wonderful. It was very clean, homey, and the exposed beams as you walk in were really cool.
This was a nice place to stay. Beautiful views. Close to downtown. Nice cozy place.
This is a lovely home with a comfy, cabin-like feel. We enjoyed the loft-area with a large couch/bed which was a great spot for a nap or to read. The location is perfect; just down the road (2 min drive) from downtown with great restaurants, yet located in a small canyon so that you feel like you're almost in the mountains. Eliza was very flexible with our check-out time which was a great blessing to fit our travel plans.
We stayed with just my husband, myself and our little dog. But the place is plenty big for 2 couples or a family. There are some small grassy areas for your dog to walk around, but no fenced area.
Wifi worked great. The cable (Dish) was very slow and lost connection often but I shared this with the owner and she was going to look into it.
I would definitely recommend this place. And be sure to check out the Broadwater Hot Springs; just 15 min from the house.
We were in Helena for a family event. We are a family of five adults. Location is beautiful and situated closely to downtown brewery, bakery, shops, Cathedral. Easy off street parking.
-- SPECTACULARLY clean
-- Downstairs bath linen closet - good quality towels and more than our family could use
-- well stocked kitchen -- quality pans, silverware, knives, cutting boards, pottery cups, glassware; dinnerware and other glassware plastic but nice. Growlers.
-- well stocked pantry -- olive oil, flours, salt, pepper, spices
-- complete, CLEAN laundry room -- washer, dryer, detergent, softeners, bleach
-- kitchen - ample detergent, wipes, and cleaners
-- baths - plenty good quality shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap
-- GREAT water pressure
-- Downstairs rooms heated by hot water circulation to baseboards. Upstairs rooms heated by electric fireplaces, hallway in-wall electric. It was a cold weekend. We were warm and comfortable. There is linkage between hot water temp and downstairs thermostat. We all showered daily, sometimes twice a day, never ran out of hot water, but water temperature was immediately impacted by changes to thermostat set point. NOT a negative, just an FYI for wintertime.
-- Downstairs bathroom has a spectacular shower inside an enormous tub. We travel 50% of our time, and this is the best shower we've experienced and that includes our own home.
-- Master bedroom has a queen bed and pull-out bed with two twin mattresses
-- Second bedroom has a queen bed and a couch that folds down into a single bed.
-- There is a comfortable single sleeping space on the second floor landing. Our fifth adult slept on the first floor living room couch for greater privacy. Everyone was comfortable. There were more good quality sheets, pillow cases, and comforter covers than we could use.
-- The home is long and narrow. It has a very spacious feel that is not clear from the photos. With 5 adults, no one felt crowded, we all had privacy.
-- The home is nicely decorated, very homey feeling, we were always finding interesting books, pictures, decorative items
-- Snow was meticulously removed from all walkways. Our party included two 70+ year old parents. No safety concerns
-- There are two small steps indoors that are difficult to see. We placed bright objects and yellow tape on them to ensure visibility.
-- Don't lock the screen door when going out :-)
-- Eliza, the owner, is accessible, rapid in response to questions, and flexible
