Upon entering the property, it was immediately apparent that this was not the property presented on this site. The condition of the property was woefully inadequate for my family to stay for the four nights we had reserved it for.

We immediately contacted the property owner and expressed our displeasure. We said that there were numerous stains around the house including deep, dark stains in the carpet, food and/or possibly bodily stains in the bedding, hairs all around the bathroom floors, and untold amounts of dust throughout the house. Our son has allergies and the amount of dust in the house made it impossible for us to stay even one night. Not to mention cobwebs on the trashcans and all around the exterior of the house and overused furniture which looked like they weren’t wiped down in months.

The owner said he would send the cleaning crew back and sent a follow up message through Homestay that the team would take 45 minutes to come to the house. This was the one and only time he sent back the cleaning team. We met with the cleaning team before we left the property. They stated that the team which so called cleaned the property was not the original team which was supposed to clean the house. The owner at no point 'triple checked' the cleanliness of the property as he stated in his message which also tersely stated we would not receive a refund.

We obviously do not recommend this property nor have anything positive to say about the owner. We took numerous photos to document what we had to deal with and submitted them in our formal complaint to Homestay. Unfortunately we're unable to upload them on this review.

Lastly the owner has not refunded our security deposit which we should at least get back considering we did not spend one night in the property.

Great Venice Beach Location

Justin's place was a great location for us. We were just a mile away from the beach and close to a grocery store, gas station, and places to eat. I thought the check-in process was quick and easy and very straight forward. The house had everything we needed and we had a quick response to any questions we had. I had ordered the UFC fight one of the nights we were there and Justin and his assistant were more than understanding and accommodating as I had left payment for them.

Only downfall was the house next door was being worked on in July and we woke up to quite a bit of hammering at 7:00am. Obviously out of anyone's control and is only temporary. Definitely a great location and a breeze to check in and out. Parking was convenient and available out front of the house. Overall, we were very comfortable and satisfied.

The house was nice,,,it has everything you need for you and your guest, love having the backyard for barbecues and just relaxing at night..Justin made things simple for us,,checking in was easy

Nice property, but needs attention.

We stayed in this property in early August. As previous reviews stated, it's a nice house in a nice neighborhood close to the beach, restaurants and shopping. Justin was veery helpful and quick to respond to any concerns. Our concerns were the cleanliness of the property and the limited supplies available. As previous reviews mentioned, there were multiple screens torn or missing. The ant problem has gone past what can be controlled with a can of Raid. We had ants in the closets, bathrooms, as well as the kitchen. We were traveling with a minivan and the alley and garage are too narrow for the van to fit into. However, street parking was not a problem.

There were no paper towels or napkins available, so we had to purchase these. There was two washcloths for the 7 of us and only one set of towels. We did laundry frequently and bought washcloths. I often clean units that I stay in over 3 days, there was not a mop, bucket, rags and only limited cleaning supplies.
