This area has a family-oriented PRIVATE BEACH. Located on the north end of Long Beach Island in a section called NORTH BEACH, one of the islands affluent sections where privacy and seclusion are the biggest draw. The small number of beach access paths makes it more peaceful than the other parts of the island.
We have a shared deck on the dune, this is truly the most unique feature of this property. The deck sits perched at the base of the dunes. First floor has easy access along a boardwalk like path for those with restrictions. The ocean sunrise and Barnegat Bay sunsets are spectacular, choose your time of day and take in the beauty. The breathtaking beach of North Beach is there to enjoy the sun and surf with a life guard on duty directly in front of the house. The beach is quiet with plenty of space between families, allows plenty of room to spread out towels and enjoy extra space for beach games. The ocean, although ever changing, historically our beach has a beautiful sand bar at low tide which is enjoyed by the youngest beach goers and is a skim boarders delight. The neighboring beach(300 foot away) is unguarded and allows for surfing and surf fishing throughout the day. Our family enjoys setting up a volleyball net on the beach and have some family-friendly competition, wiffle-ball games, Can-Jam, or grabbing some fishing poles. The surf fishing has brought in many varieties of fish for dinner, whether its King Fish, Blues, Strippers, Flounder, or the non-edible Sand Sharks or Skates ... any fisherman will enjoy the surf. After a long day at the beach, nothing beats a warm shower outside to clean off all the sand and salt. The outside decks are furnished for your outdoor relaxing, whichever view you choose to enjoy ... ocean or bay you will have plenty of seating.
There are 4 Bedrooms on each floor: King size bed in master suite(has a full bath), Queen size bed in 2nd master bedroom (has a 1/2 bath), Two additional bedrooms with two twin beds in each, and a total of 2 1/2 baths on each floor.
The island is in our opinion ... PERFECT!! Our home is located in an area that does not have any commercial businesses. We are in a one mile stretch of all homes and a single road(Long Beach Blvd) running through the center of the island. The one-mile stretch is perfect for a morning walk/run or bring your bicycle to enjoy the island bike paths. On the northern most part of the island, about six miles north of the house sits Old Barney, the lighthouse in Barnegat Light. The walking pier is a favorite place for fishermen and sightseers. Many fishing boats depart from Barnegat Light for day and night fishing trips. Heading south you will find most everything you could need in Surf City ... groceries, fresh vegetables, dining spots, bars, general stores, ice cream, mini golf, butcher shop(Okie's - amazing meats), rental equipment, playgrounds and much more. As you continue south you will find Beach Haven is the largest and most commercial area of the island. Beach Haven is home to the shopping pier - Bay Village and Schooner's Wharf, Fantasy Island - rides and games, Water park - Thundering Surf, and many eating establishment and bars along the entire island. Long Beach Island offers FREE Shuttle Service that services the entire island from 10am - 10pm. You can hop on the shuttle to go play mini golf at Flamingo or take a longer ride to Bay Village and then catch a shuttle back to the house. The shuttle picks up on Long Beach Blvd in the appropriate direction of your destination. Shuttles come by approximately every twenty minutes.
This family owned property has been the pride of our father since the 1950's. Dad is no longer with us but the pride of ownership has been taken over by his wife and children. We take pride in providing a well stocked home to our tenants. The house was gutted and rebuilt in 2007, it's basically a new house. Our goal ... for you to enjoy our home as much as we do!!!

The property is unique for the island. We own the entire strip of land from the ocean to the boulevard which gives our tenants plenty of outdoor space as well as a nice size living space within the home. No need to worry about finding a spot on the street, we have a large parking lot behind the house. The property allows children additional room to roam but still being on our property. The beach is private and in our opinion, just simply the best beach area on the island. Come find out for yourself ... you wont be disappointed.
Our most unique feature of our home is probably the "Dune Deck". This is a favorite spot for morning tea/coffee, afternoon sun, evening cocktails, star gazing in the evening or a morning sunrise. Many of our tenants that are not able to walk in the sand enjoy the feel of being on the beach but have the support of a deck under foot.
The home also has an elevator that services ground level, 1st and 2nd floors. This feature is great for those who cant manage the steps or is also a great way to unload the cars upon arrival.
We loved our stay at this property and did not want to leave. The owner is lovely and the home is beautiful. Everything in the home is in excellent condition. The kitchen is well stocked with very nice amenities. There is an indoor eating area and an outdoor eating area with beautiful views of the beach. We could have not asked for a better place to stay. It was so good that my kids were asking to go again as soon as we left the driveway. If you rent this house, you will not be disappointed.
I have rented on LBI for the past 25 years (ever since I moved away). I can honestly say that this is my favorite rental, by far! The house was beautiful - comfortable and had everything you might need. The dune-top patio was an added benefit and the elevator made it easy to access the top floor. The best part was meeting the owner, Clare. What a nice person with such a generous spirit! I want to adopt her! :)
I have been renting on LBI for the past 25 years and I can honestly say that this is, by far, my favorite rental! The house is comfortable, the elevator makes it easy to bring belongings up to the top floor and the dune-top patio is a great addition. The best part was meeting the owner, Clare. A wonderful time was had by all. The house was comfortable and inviting. The elevator was so helpful in getting all our luggage etc quickly and easily into the house. The kitchen had everything needed for cooking or just opening a bottle of wine. Then you take your glass of wine out to either the covered porch or the dune deck to enjoy the ocean views. The owner was very congenial and had great suggestions for restaurants on the island. A return trip is planned. Would recommend to all.
This house is beautiful, the owner is delightful, the location is perfect, the amenities and layout (and elevator) are upscale and in perfect condition, and the Dune Deck is spectacular. Some of us enjoyed the covered porch, but the sun-lovers spent hours at the "on the beach" patio, watching the ocean dance. I'd had a dastardly thought of leaving a bad review so we could come again any time we want, but Clare, the owner who we enjoyed so much, deserves a glowing review, as does her beautiful home.
The upstairs neighbors (also delightful) could be heard when walking, but the sound of the surf more than made up for minor footstep noises, and the layout of the house keeps the bedrooms quiet. A surpurbly designed home.
PS - the local restaurants and their delicious fish made the vacation even more enjoyable, and the reasonable drive to Atlantic City was the frosting on the cake. We hope to return several times / year to restore our equilibrium. Thank You, Clare, for sharing your wonderful home!
Our family rented the lower unit of this home for one week during the end of June, 2014. This home is positioned perfectly on the ocean, allowing for the dune deck to be used as well as the lower floor deck. If you are looking for a handicap home this is it - one can roll right up onto the dune with no issues at all! The inside of the home is well appointed, with everything in very good shape. Kitchen is stocked with just about any cooking utensil one can want. Outdoor BBQ is brand new as well. The website pictures don't do this home justice - it is better than what you see on the web!
The beach is wide, clean and free of the noisy partygoers just to the north of Barnegat. Mainly a family beach, there is lots of room for the kids to play football or throw frisbees without bothering anyone. Lots of restaurants within just a few minutes drive, plus miniature golf and other activities for the kids. They have it all at this spot, and if you are lucky enough to be there when Clare (or her children) is there, you will have one of the most gracious hosts one can want. Pretty much every detail has been addressed.
