This house, surrounded by live oaks, offers a relaxing Southern atmosphere. The wrap-around porch offers a variety of natural views. This 3 story home has elevator access to each floor. The top floor has 3 bedrooms with queen beds and an open bonus room with a double bed. The main floor boasts a large family room, a kitchen, and a dining room overlooking the Stono river. Just off the family room is the master suite with a king bed and a private bath with an antique claw foot tub and separate walk in shower. There is also a double bed located off the kitchen with a connecting half bath. This river home sleeps 10 to 12 people comfortably and is ideal for connecting with nature and relaxing.

My group of 8 ladies had the pleasure of staying at this lovely property. This was our 28th annual getaway and Leanna's house was the by far the best equipped kitchen in which we cooked. Every kind of utensil, serving dish, pot, and pan was available. There are ample linens and the water pressure was more than adequate. Most of us are around 60 years of age so the elevator was greatly appreciated for moving luggage. The location is convenient to Charleston and Folly Beach but in a quiet neighborhood. There are restaurants and grocery stores a short drive from the house.
The security deposit was returned in a timely manner. Should our travels bring us to Charleston again we will return to Stano River House.

Private and comfortable
Our extended family stayed with us in this house while in town for our daughter’s wedding. The house was extremely clean and comfortable. Very quite and secluded feeling. Very convenient to Charleston and everything we needed...shopping, exploring, etc. Only negative thing would be the furnishings, kitchen and laundry items are quite dated and could use updating. However, this wouldn’t keep us from staying here again should we be in the area and in need of accommodations. This house is very spacious and the yard is a good size for kids to play in. Keep an eye on the kids though because of the closeness of the pond in the back yard.

This home is a 4 bedroom. The bonus room is really a third floor sitting area with no door ....
I was not please with the layout. We needed 6 bedrooms but this property is a true 4 bedroom home. The elevator opens in 2 of the converted bedrooms. My wife and I had to sleep in the open area or bonus room located next to the stairs. Absolutely no privacy! The rental was very affordable and clean but I wish we were aware of the doorless and open sitting area/bonus room with (again) no door. The pier is outright scary (500+ ft) with no type of handrail. We wanted to take the family out to crab but most of the family was afraid to walk the pier. Again, the property was very nice, clean, affordable and nicely located from downtown Charleston but I feel it was listed very incorrectly. The bonus room bed should have been a pullout couch and it shouldn't have been listed as a bedroom because it is definitely not a bedroom. I normally don't participate in reviews but I was definitely upset about this property listing and scary pier.
I am sorry that you did not like the layout of the house. The description of the house on the website states that it is a 5 bedroom , 3 1/2 bath house and an open bonus room. Which it is indeed. There are two bedrooms on the main floor. One of which is the master bedroom with a king size bed and it’s own private bathroom. It has a door to the living room and a door to a screened in porch. The other bedroom is a small bedroom with a door opening to the kitchen. It has a full size bed and a connecting half bath. There is an exterior door to the wrap around porch. The elevator also opens up into this bedroom. The third floor has three bedrooms and two full baths. Each bedroom has a queen size bed. There is also an open bonus room. With no doors. It has a TV and a full size bed. (Eventually I want to have two futons instead of the bed) The dock is 709 ft long and is 4 ft wide and has no handrails as per the request of a neighbor and DNR permit “as to not distract from the natural view across the marsh.” However some neighbors were allowed to have handrails. It depends on when you get your permit and what it states. There are photos of each bedroom and the dock included on the website. I hope this clarifies the layout for future renters.
