Taphouse Farm has a large detached stone and brick built house with a slate roof. The farmhouse is situated in the peaceful, picturesque Marshwood Vale; an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The farmhouse has 6 bedrooms, (2 family ensuites) and 2 bathrooms and sleeps 16 plus 2 cots. It has full central heating run off an oil-fired boiler and log fire in the lounge. All exterior doors and windows are double glazed. At the front side of the house is a (12'x8') double glazed conservatory and sliding patio doors to the garden, ideal for that evening drink and barbecue. There is a large stoned patio area with wooden picnic tables and bbq.THERE IS A HOT TUB ON THE PATIO.
The large games barn has a skittle alley, table tennis, 6x3'pool and snooker tables and darts board. There are plenty of car parking spaces near the house and games room.
Guests are welcome to come to the main farm to watch the milking, see baby calves, beef animals, sheep, and dogs. Lambing is usually between February and May. Watch sheep and cattle in the fields in spring and summer out over the garden fence. We also grow winter wheat, spring barley, forage maize and various crops for animal feed. We will be pleased to show you around and answer any questions. We are inspected annually for ABM/FABBL Beef and Lambs Scheme and NDFAS for milk production.
Directions to Taphouse Farmhouse - The easiest way to come is via the village of Marshwood. Turn off the B3165 beside the Church and School at Marshwood; follow this road about 2 miles until a four cross road. Here turn right to Whitchurch Canonicorum and Taphouse Farm is the first farm you will come too on the right side of the road. You may come from the A35 Bridport to Charmouth road. At Morcombelake near the Artwave turn to Whitchurch Canonicorum, follow until a four cross road in the village, here turn right, go past the Village Hall once the School. Take first left marked Gassons Lane, opposite the Berehayes Holiday Cottages, marked Bettiscombe and Marshwood. Follow this road 2.5.miles ignoring all farm entrances until a four cross, here turn left and Taphouse is immediately on you left. We wish you a safe and pleasant journey and if the weather is very wet please use the first instructions, as occasionally the River Char will cover the road near Whitchurch.
