This delightful cottage is a perfect escape for two with beautiful countryside on the doorstep offering many options for avid walkers and cyclists.
Rosemary Cottage is set with views overlooking the established gardens and tennis court of the Owners grounds which you have full access to during your stay. There is a traditional stable door entrance which leads directly to the lounge which is lovely place to relax with views to the gardens and entertainment provided with Freeview television, WiFi and a music system. At the end of the ground floor hall way, is the fully fitted kitchen with a dining area for two. The kicthen is well appointed with many facilites for dining during your stay however, with a vast array of eating options in the local area, you may not need to do any cooking!
The bathroom is between the lounge and kitchen on the ground and features a a corner shower cubicle, WC and basin.
There is a small staircase from the living area to the first floor bedroom and there you find a light and airy sleeping area. A relaxing and peaceful space with books and paintings to keep you entertained.
Directly outside the cottage there is a gas fired BBQ available with table and chairs for enjoying alfesco meals in the summer months and further on from this area is the tennis court. Walkers will love Rosemary Cottage as, leading on from the tennis courts through the private woodland area, you can access the Downs Link long distance path between Guildford and Shoreham. Should you want to bring your bicycles, there is secure storage available in an outbuilding and access to an outside hose if required.
The parking for one car is directly in front of the cottage.
Jolesfield and beyond
Rosemary Cottage is perfectly situated to enjoy a lot of Sussex with The Downs Link, which links the North and South Downs Ways, located just behind the cottage grounds. This 37 mile route for walkers and cyclists provides easy access to many trails and routes to enjoy the stunning Sussex countryside.
The South Downs are within easy reach of the cottage and the popular vantage points of Chanctonbury and Cissbury Rings, both Iron Age hill forts, are due south from Rosemary Cottage. The distance between the two rings is approximately three miles and provides wonderful views over the Downs and out to sea while on clear days Chichester and the Isle of Wight are easily visible from Cissbury Ring.
It is half an hours drive to the Sussex Coast from Rosemary Cottage offering such a variety ; from the bustling cosmopolitan city of Brighton to the traditional sea fronts of Worthing, Lancing and Shoreham. There's certainly nothing quite like a day at the coast, the smell of fish & chips and candy floss will bring back those childhood memories of the classic British seaside.
Parham House and Gardens, Nymans Gardens, High Beeches and Wakehurst Place are all nearby. Nymans Gardens particularly is one of the National Trusts finest with extensive grounds set around a romantic house and ruins.
