About Victoria Alderson

My Husband and I live in Embsay with our 3 beautiful daughters who attend the local school.

My husband is a carpenter and I am an interior designer and Art Tutor. I also run the Embsay Brownie group with a friend.

We love living in Embsay, it's a great location and base and we hope you love it too!

Victoria Alderson purchased this house in 2015

Why Victoria Alderson chose Embsay

We bought this property and renovated it ourselves. Its such a bright spacious house we knew it would be perfect for a holiday let as it lends its self to socialising and entertaining with all that the Yorkshire Dales has got to offer on the door step. We've made Blue Dales a home from home with elements of boutique hotel thrown in for a bit of added luxury. When the sun shines the garden is a sun trap front and rear, perfect for al fresco dining.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The house was absolutely amazing! It looks stunning, in fact we are now planning to redecorate our house in a similar style now we are back home! Your art work is lovely, Victoria, and really sets a nice tone to the place.

Everything was fantastic thank you. We have been to Billy Bob's and around Skipton Castle and the local pub for a lovely meal. There was so much to do we will definitely be back. The children loved the games room and it was hard to get them out of it, in fact they are already asking when we will be returning.

We would highly recommend Blue Dales to future guests. Thank you Victoria, we had a wonderful holiday and thank you for the treats.

Wonderful property and host - highly recommended

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a lovely weeks holiday at Blue Dales. From start to finish Victoria was excellent in communicating and helping with any questions we had. On arriving we were greeted with cookies and Prosecco and a spotless beautiful home. For our family of four with two teenage boys it was perfect and the games room a bonus to keep the boys entertained.

The area was lovely with wonderful walks and just up the road was Skipton with all you could need- shopping, petrol and restaurants etc and a fantastic farm shop. The market was great too.

Victoria also displays her beautiful art work at the property which can be purchased- we are delighted with our watercolour picture.

Can highly recommend Blue Dales as an ideal base to explore Yorkshire and also the Lakes.

comfortable and beautiful - didn't want to leave

  • 5 of 5

This is an extraordinary holiday house with everything that you'll need for a short or long stay. My family was truly sad to leave. Victoria is friendly, helpful and readily available. Embsay is an ideal base for getting out in any direction of the north. We enjoyed Skipton, Ilkley, York, Harrogate, the Ribble Valley and the Dales. The best holiday that we've had in years - thank you, Victoria!

Brilliant property in Yorkshire Dales

  • 5 of 5

Blue Dales is a brilliant property; well-decorated, spacious and very comfortable. The photos are an accurate representation of the property, which is in a convenient location for walking in the Yorkshire Dales.

Victoria was a great host - good communication before and during our stay, stopped by to ensure that we had settled-in and made the trip very easy.

Would definitely recommend, and will hopefully return!

Arrived about 3.00pm on a pleasant day unpacked and had a stroll around village. Ate at local pub , nice food. Next day was raining so went into Skipton, lovely town looked around large Antique shop and had late lunch at Alexander’s, really nice food.bought some pies from prize winning pie makers for our evening meal. Next day went to Ingleborough caves very interesting, had a long walk to and from caves. Last day went to Bolton Abbey (3 different locations ) beautiful scenery, long walks next to river and woods, Abbey was lovely, stepping stones across river fun for children. Blue Dales is a terrific property, absolutely living up to the strong impression presented through the images on the website.

Equally Victoria is a excellent host / owner - passing by to ensure guests have settled in and know how to contact her should the need arise, whilst allowing them to discover all that the property and the local area has to offer.
