Most holiday makers visit Polis Chrysochou area as they want to experience the real Cyprus, away from the bustle of commercial resorts. Prodromi is a typically Cypriot village.
( but if it's the odd lively night out that you want Paphos with its numerous bars and clubs is only a 30 minute drive away )
Tour operators in Polis and Latchi offer both safaris and boat trips to the nearby Akamas peninsula so that visitors can enjoy the areas rich and diverse flora and fauna and its strong mythological links with Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. Her baths are a 10 minute drive away.
There are regular bus trips which are a great way to see the beautiful Chrysochou valley with its countless citrus groves and vineyards.
Polis' cobbled village square with its Church and pedestrian area offers a wide choice of restaurants, tavernas and bars. Whilst Latchi is renown for its fish restaurants which overlook the beaches or marina.
There are several wineries in the surrounding unspoilt villages that can be visited for free wine tasting and stocking up on good Cyprus wines for your holiday and to take home. Many provide food also so check before you visit.
