Beautiful and unique 2 bedroom flat, the 2nd floor of a listed building with panoramic views over the harbour of the picturesque fishing village of Anstruther in the Kingdom of Fife. Contains many original features but modernised to give spacious and comfortable accommodation. Comprising large beamed lounge with original fireplace, separate dining room, large modern fitted kitchen with all appliances and feature original black iron range, master bedroom with king size bed and en-suite bathroom, double bedroom with built in wardrobe and a modern instant electric shower room. The lounge, dining, kitchen and master bedroom overlook the harbour to the Firth of Forth. WiFi available in the apartment

15 minute drive from St Andrews, ‘Anster’ is close to the other historic fishing villages along this stretch of East Neuk coast. Edinburgh is approx one hour drive away. There are regular bus transport with the two cities if required.

The flat has everything to support a comfortable and relaxing holiday in this lovely part of Scotland and to take full advantage of the Home of Golf and the many other great courses; Crail, Kingsbarns, Lundin Links, to name a few and are close by.

Very nice apartment in great location!

The apartment, owned by Ian & Caryl is located in the very centre of Anstruther village, so it is great for walking to all local ammenities. We were nicely welcomed by Ian who showed us around this lovely and very clean apartment and then left us too get on with our holiday.

The apartment has all we needed to cater for cooking, take-aways etc.

There is a very good WIFI connection if thats important to anyone wishing to stay here. As it's only mid May it was just a bit breezy to sunbathe on the local beach but it was very well looked after and clean. St Andrews is also a 15 minute drive away if you fancy the day trip out. I would definately reccomend this property to any party type, maybe not so much for anyone with walking difficulties as the stairs could be difficult but for us it was no issue.

Hope this helps anyone choosing to book.

Lovely spacious flat in the heart of ansruther with great views

Fantastic stay!

I stayed at the property for 3 nights with my husband and 4 month old baby. The flat was wonderful, lots of space while still being cosy with beautiful views of the harbour. Our whole experience was great and we would love to visit again maybe when the weather is warmer to do a bit more of the fide coastal path. Definitely have a fish supper while you’re there!

Wonderful long weekend

Had a wonderful long weekend here, my family live locally so it was just a base to spend time with them, but we regret not getting to use that bathtub and laze about in the lounge room!

Rooms were clean and quiet, easy access and communication with Ian was outstanding! Will stay again hopefully

Superb hideaway with fabulous views.

This was a real gem of a place.

To be honest, we weren't expecting too much from it when we booked it. The photographs made it looked just a little cramped, and we thought that being above a chip shop would mean it would be noisy and perhaps a little smelly. And we were a little concerned too that the stairs would be steep and dingy. But we were completely blown away when we arrived - it was simply superb.

Ian and Caryl gave us a very warm and friendly welcome, and talked us through all the appliances and features. As it was the Christmas week we had booked, they had also thoughtfully decorated the apartment in a festive manner - not over-the-top, but in an understated but appropriate fashion. They also kindly left us a warming present of a bottle of wine, which went down a treat a couple of hours later.

The flat is absolutely lovely. It is warm and cosy and has a very friendly feel to it. The lounge is spacious and is well laid out. It is not a bright room, as it has a large natural stone wall with a massive fireplace in it, which makes it more of a cosy winter room than a bright modern one. Just off the lounge is a dining room with a large table and 4 chairs, and beyond this is the kitchen. This is really a dining-kitchen, as it also has a small bistro table in it, but is nevertheless a spacious and well-equipped room. The master bedroom is large and tastefully decorated, with a new and surprisingly modern bathroom attached to it, which is simply enormous. At the rear of the apartment is the second bedroom, which is perfectly adequate as a second double bedroom. And finally, there is a long hall at the rear of the apartment, from which a separate toilet/shower room can be accessed and which also leads out to the rear door and stairs.

But the one thing that features most prominently here, and which I haven't mentioned so far, is the views from the flat. The lounge, dining room, kitchen and master bedroom all have the most amazing view of the harbour and the sea beyond. And because the flat is on the second floor, the views really are superb. Because we were there over the Christmas period, the was a large community Christmas tree on the harbour-side, just outside the entrance to the flat. At night, it was simply beautiful. And to make it even more festive, many of the boats moored in the harbour had Christmas lights attached to the rigging - at dusk, it was truly spectacular.

We enjoyed our stay there enormously. This was a real gem.

Anstruther (Ainster to the locals) is an old village which once supported a vibrant fishing fleet and, with the adjoining village of Cellardyke, retains many of the features you would expect. The fishing museum and the Ferry to the Isle of May is only yards from the apartment door. There are many fine links golf courses in addition to those at St Andrews for example Lundin Links, Kingsbarnes, St Andrews Bay, plus parkland courses such as Ladybank (Open qualifier), the Dukes and so on.
