This home was attractive to us because of it's location. We are almost at the end of Coast Guard Rd in Emerald Isle. There are three access points to the beach from our home. We are three rows back but because the Point is so wide, it isn't a long walk. When we walked into the house, the open cathedral ceiling in the front room sold us. It is light and bright. We stepped back outside and there were deer in our yard. They visit every year and love the carrots we give them. There are two empty lots besides us and that gives us privacy. We have neighbors who live on the street and that makes us feel safe and happy.
You have a wonderful breeze outside in the screened in porch. You can take bike rides -there is a special bike lane on Coast Guard Rd. Emerald Isle offers great places to shop and eat. Swansboro is a beautiful village with loads of unique shops and restaurants. About half hour away is Morehead City and Beaufort. Morehead is larger and has several stores and a wonderful drive in called "El's" Best shrimp burgers around. Beaufort is an old town with old cemetery and historical homes plus Blackbeard's museum.
We enjoyed our stay in late October. Communication prior to our arrival was great. We arrived to find the house was clean, equipped with everything we needed and very comfortable. We had our coffee on the deck and listened to the ocean each morning. I would fully recommend this cottage.
We really enjoyed the house, the location (and the great weather). Easy walk to the beach, very comfortable family area, nice yard for the dogs, well stocked kitchen, nice beds. Highlight - we got to see a loggerhead turtle nest hatch one evening!!
Very charming, cozy beach cottage with a less than 5 minute walk directly to the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Cottage had everything a family would need. On a great part of the island, near Coast Guard station. Very quiet and private. Would do it again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back! The house was extremely clean and well-appointed for all of our needs. Very easy walk to the beach made it perfect for us.
The house was adorable and a very easy walk to the ocean. I love that part of the beach because it's just never that crowded. The "queen" bed in the bedroom was a little smaller than we expected but that did not diminish the quality of the house. It was perfect and amazingly affordable! the screened in portion of the patio was awesome to watch the night thunderstorms in. I would definitely rent this house in the future!
