Very Nice Get Away

  • 4 of 5

We knew nothing of Raytown Lake area and took a chance on a long weekend to get away from nonsense that is the city and it was a success.

- The cabin was really nice and had everything you could need.

- There is no WiFi and that's good as the whole idea was to get away.

- A hot tub would have really been a upgrade, but in no way was a minus.

- Everything was clean and very homey.

- Bugs? Well you're in the woods, so if I were giving anyone a tip: Make sure to pack or stop off at the nearby Wal-Mart and grab citronella candles and bug spray. We had very little trouble with bugs around the campfire area but wander off a few steps into the woods and they let you know they are there. It's nature.

- The lake was wonderful. It's a very short drive to Seven Points and I did not mind taking our boat in and out of the water each day. We paid the $25 launch fee at the marina as the parking is way better than the free launch. The cabin parking is a breeze to maneuver with the boat, no problems what so ever.

- Surroundings, there are some really good places to eat but it is rural.

- The owners were exceptional, I got my wires crossed and we arrived thinking we had a 2pm check in, it is really 4pm so the cleaners were still working but we were able to drop off the boat and make a run to the grocery store and stock up. They also provided very good tips for getting around and provide plenty of info for things to do.

- The cabins are situated relatively close to each other but not too close. This would be great for friends/family to rent yet enough privacy for just us.

- Very pleasant stay, yes we would do it again.

Cons (I'm reaching here)

- Downstairs was a little 'musty' a dehumidifier would probably cure that. We just opened a window and let the fan circulate and it cleared right up.

Quiet Cabin in the Woods

  • 4 of 5

This was a nice little cabin. Everything was clean. It is in a secluded area and close to the Allegrippis trails and Seven Points marina. Wi-Fi signal was week and did not work all that well inside the cabin. It was great that they allow dogs.

Less than satisfactory

  • 3 of 5

The accommodations were okay. But there were lots of bugs, dirty mattress covers and an unusable coffee pot. We are not high maintenance kind of people, so we were able to get by with those inconveniences. But for the price we paid, we expect these things to not be an issue. The setting in the woods is beautiful and we did enjoy the fire pit, grill, and picnic table.

Perfect!

Everything was amazing. Well stocked kitchen...really didn't need anything (well could have used a sponge....didn't think to bring one). Loved the location. It was clean, truly nothing to improve. Thank you so much we had an awesome time!

Very nice cabin! Clean, comfortable and responsive owners.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was very clean and exactly as described. We stayed at the Red Roof Cabin which is adjacent to the Green Roof Cabin. We had an extra half bath, which was really nice for 5 adults. Only downside is that sound really carries. You can hear everything, especially in the bedrooms. However, we will definitely consider coming back. It was a really nice place and the owners were great/easy to deal with. They even dropped off some wood for us to have a fire. Great experience!

Nice getaway

  • 4 of 5

Great location. Remote feel but close to everything. Comfy living room furniture. Top of the line kitchen appliances. I was unable to start the gas fireplace even with the provided directions. Poor Wi-Fi. A handrail for the steps would be nice. Lots of utensils, plates and cups. Another med. To large pot would be helpful.
