An annual staple!!

  • 5 of 5

For the past 3 years, our group of 20 have returned to this property every winter - and each time, it provides EXACTLY what we need! There are so many amazing trails and spaces to explore on the property - so one of the highlights each year is letting people explore the grounds. Inside - we always have a fire going the whole weekend and people cozy up in the large main common area. There are plenty of beds so everyone comfortably fits to sleep. And downstairs has a great game room for people that need to get their ping pong battle on :) We'll be returning next year!!

Secluded, Gorgeous, Spacious, Welcoming

  • 5 of 5

This is our 2nd time renting the beautiful Fairhope Cabin in the woods, and it has earned a full 5/5 stars both times!

We found this house originally as a central meeting place for our expansive extended family as we no longer fit in any one of our houses, and still LOVE to enjoy the holidays together with our family dogs.

Our first visit was in December, and the roaring fireplace, ice covered lake, and cozy living areas made us feel so cozy and together.

This time we celebrated thanksgiving together and it was also perfect. We played football in the field, went on numerous hikes around the property, baked a full thanksgiving dinner in the well furnished kitchen, and had the opportunity to unplug and relax (with the opportunity to check emergency emails thanks to the new install of wifi).

We highly recommend this place and are so thankful to Josh and Michael for being so accommodating and making such a special place available to the public.

Owner's Response: Hi Lydia, Thanks for the great review! We've had many Thanksgiving family football and soccer games on those fields growing up so it's nice to hear of others enjoying them the same way. It was a pleasure to host you and your family again and we hope that you'll look us up again next year. You have been a great guest and we do appreciate the care that you take of our home during your stays. You're welcome anytime! Happy Holidays! Josh and Michael

What a great hide away.

  • 5 of 5

We went up for a few days of R&R and that's exactly what we got. This place is so secluded and peaceful. At night the stars were amazing and during the day there's a great view of fields where we saw deer and turkeys and water where we got to see Canadian geese on a stopover on their way south! The owners provide plenty of firewood and we were able to enjoy their huge fireplace all day long. The home is comfortable and the kitchen is well supplied. Sitting in the rocking chairs enjoying the view we started making plans to come back in the summer to enjoy the pool and the big pond. The owners were very responsive and accommodating. Can't wait to come back in the summer.

Great Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This is a great house with a spectacular yard and very helpful, attentive owners.

The house suited our needs perfectly. We had a group of 15 and there was more than enough space, more than enough beds, plenty of restrooms and amenities so that we were very comfortable. The house is a total throwback, but that just added to the charm. The house was very clean and had everything a big group could need. The kitchen had more than enough space and was very well appointed. The large wrap around deck is a great place to hangout and enjoy the spectacular view.

The house is great, but the yard is really the highlight of the property. There is just so much space! The yard is perfect for all sorts of activities. Be sure to bring lawn games! The spring-fed pool is really fun and right near the house. The private lake is incredible. We had a lot of fun swimming and canoeing.

We had a great time and are considering return trips. I would fully recommend this house for your next getaway.

Amazing and cozy!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed from Wednesday to Sunday with a group of 21 people. The house was spacious and cozy! Everyone had a place to sleep and the kids had ample space to run around. We enjoyed the days lounging by the stream, fishing in the lake, and canoeing in the provided canoe. Josh was an amazing host! One of the families accidentally left a luggage bag behind and he sent it back to them for free. We will definitely be back! Thank you Josh for going above and beyond!

What a great get away place!

  • 5 of 5

What a relaxing time! And we had amazing weather for July, you would have thought it was late September. Temps the 50/60's in the morning. The place is so green and beautiful we really enjoyed just sitting on the deck with our coffee. We saw more than a dozen deer, watched the beaver swim and just enjoyed the quiet and tranquility that this remote place offers. At night the stars were amazing! There wasn't any other ambient light and we turned off all the lights in the house and saw there in awe. The kitchen is fully stocked with any cookware we needed and the house was very clean.
