About the property

GREAT HOME FOR UNIVERSITY OF NEVADA VISITS and more! Our beautifully furnished family home is located just above the University campus on spectacularly scenic University Ridge. It is next to UNR and Rancho San Rafael Park and close to downtown Reno and only a minute to the city-encircling McCarran Blvd with relatively easy access to shopping, casinos and all freeways. Mackay Stadium, Lawlor Events Center, the Fleischmann Planetarium, the School of Medicine, the Nevada Historical Society and the Post Office are all only 3-5 minutes away.

Our 3-bedroom, 2-bath, 3-car garage home sits at the highest point on the ridge and comfortably accommodates 8 adults sleeping on 4 full-size beds with additional capacity for 2 - 4 more children or adults sleeping on sofas and/or inflatable queen-size beds. The master bedroom is large with 2 full-size beds with night stands and lamps plus sitting area with table & chairs. The walk-in closet is large with built-in shelving and mirrored double sliding doors. There are double sinks in the master bath with bathtub and shower. The home has a large living room, dining area with expandable table, family room with TV, DVD/VCR with film library and wireless internet connection. NOTE: PETS WILL BE CONSIDERED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS WITH RESPECT TO: KIND, TYPE, SIZE, NUMBER, ETC.

The kitchen is modern with everything one would expect including pots, pans, plates, silverware, coffeemaker, toaster and condiments, etc. Plus, there is an island with additional storage and a large surface work area and a morning breakfast nook with expandable table. The laundry room includes washer & dryer, detergents, cleaning supplies, iron & ironing board and vacuum cleaner. There is a good supply of linens, towels, hand soap, toilet paper and other incidentals including an electric hair dryer.

The house location is private and quiet with a large flat fenced yard complete with orchard and a large patio furnished for entertainment and relaxation. A unique park is located a short walk from the house. In addition to a good assortment of playground equipment and basketball courts with restroom facilities, there is a large gazebo with picnic tables and barbecue.

The city/mountain/UNR views from the park are exceptional and it is a popular panoramic photo location both day and night. Also, a scenic walkway serpentines from the gazebo down to lower level playing fields. The walkway has fitness stops along the way complete with exercise equipment and instructions (see photos).

Our home is comfortable with many amenities and enjoys a special location that will help insure that your visit is special!

Great Property!

  • 5 of 5

We would recommend this property to anyone who wants to be close to casinos/downtown but not too close. We used it for a softball tournament. Everyone slept comfortably and we were close to the ball fields. Nice shaded yard for the summer and inside is furnished for a large family/group. The owners & family were very accommodating to our issues.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We were nervous about renting our home. But, since we wouldn't be there full time, we didn't want it to sit vacant. Well, now, with more than a year of experience, our concerns have proven baseless with the caliber of the many families who have stayed very high, liked you. We also were surprised to find how many people and locals in particular were unaware that our gem of a conveniently located upscale view neighborhood exists. Thank you, again, John & Ellen

Quiet and peaceful neighborhood

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time staying on this place. It was a very cozy place for our kids to rest in between their basketball games. It is close to everything (gas, groceries, coffee, eatery...etc. The place is clean. The TV is outdated but it's doable if you only want to watch. The kitchen is well equipped but I was hoping for a better / real chopping board 😬򛀠Other than that, it has been a wonderful experience staying in this house. We're looking forward on renting this place again if we play basketball in Reno again next year.

Great option for our family!

The house was clean and comfortable and met our needs. It was a great alternative to staying in a hotel for 3 days!

Unexpected bonus to this home!

  • 4 of 5

We recently stayed in this house for almost a month and found it quite comfortable and warm (some nights got down to 17 degrees outside). Situated in a great neighborhood in the University Ridge area, we were close to everything including a wonderful park just a short walk away where views of Reno's downtown and the surrounding mountains took our breath away. The house itself had partial views of snow covered mountains plus a peekaboo view of downtown lights at night - a bonus we were not expecting!
