233 8th Avenue is actually two chalets made into one to create modern and spacious holiday accommodation. There are three bedrooms, two containing double beds and one with single bed size bunk beds. The layout is very effective, for example, the well-equipped kitchen is adjacent to the dining room, equipped with a dining suite and TV. There is also further seating in the kitchen area, with a door leading to a double bedroom; bathroom one is located next door to this bedroom. Passing through the dining area leads you to the second double bedroom on the left with bathroom 2 opposite. At the end of this corridor is a comfortable lounge with two double divans and a wall mounted TV. Bedroom three, with the bunks, is located through a door at the end of the lounge area. All rooms have wall mounted and/or electric radiatorsrs, electricity being included in the tariff. The door in the lounge opens out onto an area of astro-turf, with a ramp up to the doors that can provide wheelchair access. The garden is peaceful and private; there is also a paved area with a dining set for those warm evenings of al fresco dining. The chalet sleeps six very comfortably.
3 bed, 2 bathrooms and only 150 metres from the beach

About Mrs Paula harrison
I live and work in Sheffield, but my husband and i have always holidayed in East Yorkshire because we love the area. We bought the chalet as a business venture, but also so that we can holiday there whenever we can get a few days away.
Mrs Paula harrison purchased this Chalet in 2017
Why Mrs Paula harrison chose Bridlington
233 is a modern and well equipped chalet that is finished to a high standard, and will provide excellent home from home accommodation for our guests. We love just being able to walk around 150 metres and access the beach which goes on for miles in both directions!

Thank you Clair. It was lovely to welcome you back, and as you can see, we keep striving to keep the accommodation to a standard we would want for ourselves. Hope to see you again in the future!

Perfectly pleasant but could be better
Firstly we had an issue with the property not matching the description. The advert said WiFi was provided however this was not the case, which the owners have now said was an error in the advert. The phone reception is very poor and this made keeping in touch with elderly relatives at home difficult.
The property is well looked after and nicely decorated, and felt very spacious for a family of 6 for a weeks stay. It also well equipped to act as a home from home.
The main bathroom and bunk bed room had a musty smell that didn’t go even after opening windows and the hot water supply was intermittent despite following all instructions.
Overall we enjoyed our stay but would probably look at alternative properties next time.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our proper. Obviously we are disappointed with some of your comments since we have never had a negative review of the chalet until now, and because of the inordinate amount of time and effort, not to mention the several thousand pounds we have spent, endeavouring to provide the standard of accommodation we would want for ourselves. With regard to the hot water, it would have been helpful if you had reported this as soon as the problem manifested itself; we have a plumber and electrician on call 24/7 to deal with such issues. As it happens, the water heater had developed a fault and as soon as your mum reported the problem the plumber was called. The water heater was replaced the day after you left, as was the broken bed, at a cost of nearly £1000. I feel that this demonstrates our commitment to providing the best experience for our guests.
Your comments about the bedroom and bathroom I find baffling. My wife and I spend 2 or 3 hours cleaning after every guest and we also stay at the chalet ourselves quite regularly, and we have never noticed any ‘musty’ smells. I can assure that these rooms are kept spotlessly clean and, having looked through dozens of reviews, I can find no other mention of any kind of odour. My wife and I cleaned yesterday and deliberately closed all the doors. We returned this morning to renew dehumidifiers and air fresheners and there were no unpleasant smells whatsoever and I would welcome any inspection.
With regards to WiFi, the error was made when I was filling in the details for the chalet some 18 months ago, and it has not been corrected because no one has flagged it up until now. I can assure you it was a genuine mistake - we are not trying to get people to stay under false pretences. We acknowledge that WiFi is an important part of modern life and as we speak, Sky are in the process of installing it at the chalet. In any case we have never really had a problem with not having WiFi. My iPhone works for calls and texts and I only have to walk 20 meters to the car park to get 4G so I don’t really agree with you regarding communication problems.
I am sorry that you feel the need to seek alternative accommodation if you return to South Shore. I can only say that if you find chalet proprietors more committed to providing an enjoyable experience for their guests than we are, I would be interested in meeting them. Thank you once again for your business.

The owner's have done a lot to make the chalet welcoming and homely. Lots of lovely touches and the place was spotless. It's in a brilliant location and is well placed to either walk or get the land train to Bridlington and is very close to the beach. We were a family of two adults, 2 children and 2 elderly relatives and there was plenty of room for us all. Just one thing to note, there are some small steps between some of the rooms and our elderly relatives took a few tumbles due to them! No injuries though so didn't cause a problem, also a slip mat in the bath/shower would have been helpful for them. Please don't let those minor points put you off! The chalet is lovely and the owners were incredibly helpful from the moment we booked. Thanks for a lovely holiday. Would recommend eating at Makis on the neighbouring site, lovely food and brilliant outside play area for the kids.
Thank you for those kind words Sue. We do work hard to provide the standard of accommodation we would want for ourselves. The points you make are also noted. I will put signs on the wall about minding the steps and provide a bath mat. Many thanks
