Close proximity to Manhattan
- English, Spanish
I like to provide a welcoming environment to travelers from abroad and within. In addition to standards of clean bedding, towels, and bathroom essentials including shampoos and soaps, there is an underlying theme dedicated to our global environment. There are original artworks about the environment by local artisans, an eclectic and minimalistic interior design, fresh flowers, and consumer friendly utilities.
Why Viktoria chose Historic Downtown
Super quick 15 minute access to Manhattan. Compared to Manhattan and her boroughs, guests appreciate the better rates, quiet streets, more space, and a break from the tourist environment.
What makes this Apartment unique
This is an historic dwelling with plenty of charm and warmth. The brownstone brick building was built in 1825 and has a rich blend of contemporary upgrades and old world blend of shabby and chic.

very convenient for a Manhattan visit
Small but sufficient for a party of four adults; very good location near PATH (Grove station), safe neighborhood (we walked thru it at all times, 8AM - 4AM, no problems), pharmacy, deli (right on the corner, attention: only accepts cash), 24 hour pizza (Stella's, across the street from PATH Columbus exit; best pizza I had this trip, cheap, try the one with chicken if you like a sort of sweet taste). If cooking, all the utensils are there, pans, oven, microwave. If just heating, like us, there is a toaster. TV, air conditioners (3 units), firm mattresses, clean linens and towels. Viktoria (owner/manager) is super-nice, kept giving us advice about restaurants; I am sure that she will take care of the 2 minor things that were not 100% (couple of missing knobs, mirror in the bathroom).
So, knowing the size of the apartment, we would definitely book it again if travelling with, at most, 4 people.
Mislead with location
Search for the location on the booking site and see the written actual address of the listing location as Jersey City. Note the map view shows the listing accurately as Jersey City. It is not possible to be more accurate than that. “I meant what I said and I said what I meant. An elephant's faithful one-hundred percent!” ― Dr. Seuss, Horton Hatches the Egg
This one-star review is inacurrate and so was the original booking. We do not expect to be misled about 3rd party bookings. We do not expect to be misled about the number of guests booked. We expect six adult guests to arrive when six are booked, not 9 including a tired infant and 12-year-old child after 2 days of car travel. We want to ensure the best fit. There are enough beds to accommodate small to medium sized groups in this small NYC sized walk-up apartment. We won't turn away a tired infant in tow because it is ethically immoral. When guests cancel, we do our best to re-rent in order to refund. We appreciate gratitude for ethicalyl responsible practices and not a penalty 1-star inaccurate review.
Cute flat in good location.
Cute flat in really good location. Beds were comfy and decor was pleasant, but bathroom was a bit grubby. Street parking was hard to find tho, and overnight parking garage is not cheap
The apartment itself was nice and for our family of 4 well. Any issues we had were addressed quickl
The apartment was nice, clean and pretty well kept. The first impression from outside the building left these Midwesterners a little concerned. It seemed like a shady area to us but turned out to be enjoyable. The 3 nights and 4 days we stayed there were safe and lots of fun.
Good location to go to NY
The apartment is a little bit small for 7 persons but has a good location, near the path to go to NY.
When we arrived, it wasn’t ready but I communicated with the owner. She communicated with the housekeeper and they shortly restore the situation.
Apartment was clean and tidy with everything we needed. Having the sofa bed in the lounge really helped us (especially as five of us). Location was great for restaurants and bars - Newark Ave is only one street over and has a plethora of choice - some awesome eating places. Its close to the Grove St PATH - so could access NYC ok. Viktoria was very accommodating - letting us drop our cases off early etc - really helped seeing we were travelling in from another part of the states with lots of cases.
