About Julie Osborne

I purchased Hyde Beeches in 2003 and lived there for 6 years with my 2 sons. They had an amazing time growing up there with the huge garden where they played football and made dens and tree houses. I used to love my morning walk with Syd, our dog in the forest which is on the door step. We loved mountain biking out the door into miles of forest. As the boys grew up it we decided to move into Poole. I really miss being at Hyde and when both boys left home Wayne and I moved back here and refurbished the Barn. I love being back here and have enjoyed spending time creating our dream home. We have landscaped the garden and updated both properties. We both love travelling so during these periods we also rent out the barn.

Julie Osborne purchased this cottage in 2003

Why Julie Osborne chose Bere Regis

I bought this property as when I was looking for a place in the country I phoned an agent to enquire about another property which they had just sold and the agent said 'I have got another property but you wont like it as its on the edge of the forest and down a 1/2 mile track, in the middle of no where' She couldn't have been more wrong it was just what I was looking for!!!

What makes this cottage unique

As I drive into Hyde and Seek Retreats I always feel I am leaving the stresses of life behind and escaping to a magical place.

60th Birthday Weekend Stay

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed for a long weekend, for our Mum's 60th Birthday. The house is fantastic for such an occasion plenty of seating in the kitchen, the lounge and the dining table. Loads of outside space which the dogs loved and we all made use of the badminton, croquet set and football goal. The garden was the place we spent most of our time. The large outside area was perfect, bbq, table and even a corner sofa. There was also a built in heater that was perfect for when it gets colder and a firepit which we used a few times, perfect for toasting up a few marshmallows. The facilities are excellent plenty of equipment , utensils , white goods ect there wasn't anything I could think of that would be needed. Obviously we brought our own tea coffe milk ect but that you'd expect. The rooms were well presented plenty of room for all of us and the kingsize bed was one of the comfiest i've ever been in, waking up was the problem. The only issue and only negative I can think of is that it's not the quietest of houses as in the noise carrys a bit for those who go for an early night, but then thats their punishment for going to bed early whilst on holiday :).

I couldn't reccomened this house enough, perfect for a family holiday, a place to all be together , get away from the everyday work stresses, unwind, have a few big dinners and plenty of cider !! or whatever your tipple.

Thank You Julie for a wonderful stay, everyone really loved the time here and my Mum especially. Thank you also for the extra touches and the later checkout, much appreciated. We'll definately look at booking again in the near future !!

Fabulous property everything you could need for a comfy stay.

  • 5 of 5

Loved it, great having the comfortable outdoor seating undercover, with the heaters we could stay out late. Kitchen well equipped with everything, enjoyed my first time Aga cooking. There is electric but seems rude not to give the Aga a go! Lovely bedrooms plenty of bathrooms. Loads space downstairs stacks of DVDs, games and great garden lots of entertaining wildlife 👍?. Enjoyed the dressing up box even without any children 😂?😂?

An ideal holiday home

  • 5 of 5

A fantastic holiday home for six adults and four boys who were under 12. Plenty of space in the house and the garden was a definite highlight. All the boys played football whilst the adults enjoyed the barbecue and heated patio area. The house was interesting with two staircases and a large box of Lego as well as a dressing up box. Easy driving distance from Poole, Bournemouth, Corfe Castle and Moors Country Park. Would be very happy to stay there again.

A holiday catering for all ages !

  • 5 of 5

Superior standard retreat that was loved by all six adults and three grandchildren. Plenty of space for everyone and the layout is very good. My husband and I slept in the bedroom off the kitchen....best of the lot for pillow fights with the grandchildren .So much to see and do, we did our best to make the most of it! We brought a supply of games....badminton was a favourite in the huge garden, but there is an excellent choice at the cottage. The wild life was a huge attraction.....especially when the three year old saw a deer in the garden, and looking for new mole hills was fun.

This holiday has given us all a wealth of happy memories …..and hundreds of photos!!

Lovely setting, garden and house beautiful. A few minor issues.

  • 4 of 5

A lovely house and setting. Perfect for family gatherings of all ages, climbing frame a huge success and lots of lovely places for elderly parents to enjoy sitting and watching the fun. Well equipped, 4 corkscrews but no colander which would be useful... although no one had a problem with wine it was difficult to drain potatoes! Nice problem to have!

Some mattresses need replacing as are uncomfortable for adults. More rubbish bins needed as full when we arrived and didn't create good impression. Also had visits from dogs next door plus their 'presents' , difficult as we had small children and elderly parents.

We had a lovely time and our multi generations all felt at home here. Something for everyone.

Overall a brilliant place to stay and we would love to go again... just make the beds a little more comfortable!

Owner's Response: Pleased the kids loved the play area, we are going to add some more this year. Sorry if you could not find the colander, a mystery as there are 2. We have only had good reports on the beds but we will check them all again, thank you for brining this to our attention. We spoke to the council and unfortunately the rubbish was not collected the week before as so badly cross contaminated. We will ask our housekeeper to check the bin area so hopefully this will not happen again. Dogs have never been a problem as normally there are not any around but we are going to put up a few more fences so that will rectify this. We will check all the beds and replace any necessary mattresses so we will see you again!!!

Quiet and comfortable, highly recommend!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here for a weekend for a friends reunion. We had a fantastic weekend here.

It is set in a lovely area of countryside, well away from anything, and we loved the peace and quiet.

It slept all of us very comfortably, and there was more than enough space for us all to spend the weekend here, inside and out.

Catering for ten wasn't a problem due to the amazingly well equipped kitchen and with a bit of luck with the weather, we ate outside the whole weekend overlooking the beautiful garden!

Owner was great at communication, and had no problems whatsoever, I would highly recommend to anyone.
