Housed in a historic building in the centre of Rethymnos’ Old Town, Loggia Home is a fully renovated house originally built in the early 20th century which seamlessly blends the old with the new with an eclectic mix of modern fixtures and appliances, wooden ceilings and generous amounts of natural light.

Take advantage of the location and explore the historical district of Rethymno old town, discover the unique day and night life of the area and at the same time be only a few minutes walking distance from the most famous beach in central Crete, the long sandy beach of Rethymno.

The 105 sq. m house is located in the heart of the old town of Rethymno which is one of the most convenient location in the town, being within walking distances to everything. It can accommodate 4 people in beds and up to 6 people if it is necessary.

Indoor layout

Entering the main gate and enter the house on the ground floor, there is a staircase which leads to the first floor. Reaching the first floor, there is an open plan area consisting of living room, dining area and a fully equipped kitchen with top quality fixtures and appliances. The living room area contains a large sofa, a 40” satellite HDTV and a desk. Additionally this area opens to a balcony with a coffee table and chairs. There is also a bathroom with bath and shower and a washing machine on the same floor.

Reaching to the second floor through a staircase, there is a hall that has a small fridge which offers an additional comfort to the guests. Two bedrooms are located on the second floor, one of the bedroom has a double bed and the other one has 2 single bed which also can be transformed to be a double one if needed. Both rooms have 32” HDTV, air-conditioning and a closet. Additionally a toilet is found on the same floor.

Rooftop terrace

The rooftop terrace is fully furnished and equipped and you can seamlessly enjoy your meals and drinks, the panoramic views of the old town, the Neratze mosque and the mountain of Psiloritis.

Excellent apartment ideal for old town exploration

The apartment couldn't be more centrally located in Rethymno old town to take advantage of the many local tavernas and shops. The narrow historic streets and alleyways are literally on the doorstep and the harbour is only two minutes walk away. The whole building appears to have been refurbished very recently and the owners have clearly made a significant investment in doing so. The real highlights are the balconies - street view to front to enjoy the local atmosphere and private to rear, for peace and shade. There is a separate roof terrace which provides private sunbathing and outdoor dining - a huge bonus for such a central location. Perhaps not ideal for younger children and, due to the location, there is no parking at the door, however free or cheap parking is nearby. The owners and their agents could not have done more to help us.

Fantastic apartment and great value

We loved the apartment in the Old town of Rethymnon and Eva and her family made us feel very welcome. The apartment was very well equipped and tastefully decorated. All you could possibly ask for was there. Even though the apartment was in in the center of town there was no street noise during the night time. There are 3 balconies and private roof top terrace to the apartment. We would definitely stay there again.

Loggia Home is located in the old town of Rethymno which is lying in the heart of the modern city and combines the oriental features of the Turkish period with Renaissance and Venetian style architecture.

A stroll through the alleys of the old town is like traveling backwards in time, the Great Gate, the Mosques, the Rimondi Fountain, the Venetian Loggia, the Fortezza fortress, the small Venetian harbor are wonderful remnants of past periods and the unique charms of the old town!

Nowadays the old Town is full of life. Usually the day starts early in the morning with people visiting the churches and having coffee before opening their shops or going to their jobs.

 

The town gets very busy at midday when people are visiting the restaurants and taverns for their lunch. When the sun starts to set and shops start to close, another part of the town starts to rise, and that is the nightlife. Bars, pubs, little food places “rakadika”, taverns with live music, restaurants, or just a walk around the town listening to street musicians create a unique romantic atmosphere.

Staying in the old town is a privilege, as you will be able to feel the romance and air of the old days and also being close to all kind of amenities that the old and modern city have to offer.
