Overlooking the Cretan sea right in front, Penelope Home is a 195 sq. m luxurious property provides a coastal getaway with expansive views in Panormos, Crete.

Originally built in the early 20th century and refurbished recently, the house does a standout job of joining the old with the new. Although leaving reminders of its former heritage such as the traditional stone walls and vintage objects, it is equipped with all the modern amenities and create a peaceful atmosphere for restful beachside holidays, perfect for families with children.

Enjoy tranquillity, comfort and luxuriousness in this exquisite and unique home.

Furnished in a combination of vintage and luxurious touches, the two-storey house can accommodate 10 people in beds.

- Layout of the house -

Entering the house from the main entrance on the ground floor, a staircase leads you directly to the first floor where a spacious open plan area is located. The area consists of a living room area with a sofa, satellite 49" HDTV and Playstation 4, a dining area and a fully equipped authentic kitchen. From the living room area, you have direct access to a balcony which offers exceptional views of the Cretan sea.

The first floor has three bedrooms. One of them is the master bedroom with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with shower. Going through the master bedroom, there is another smaller bedroom separated by a sliding door with 2 single beds and this provides a perfect layout for a family with children. The single bedroom has direct access to a balcony on the backside of the house and this balcony leads down to a backyard garden through a staircase. Additionally there is also a bedroom with 2 single beds. Moreover the first floor hosts another bathroom with shower.

Reaching the attic from a staircase from the dining area, there is the second master bedroom with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with shower. The bedroom opens to a spacious balcony with sitting area which is the perfect spot to enjoy panoramic view and sea breeze. Going through the master bedroom, there is another smaller bedroom again separated by a door with 2 single beds which can be transformed to a double one if it is needed. This single bedroom have direct access to a balcony with two sun beds.

Wonderful and memorable stay at Penelope Home

We, a group of 5 adults and one child, had an outstanding holiday, beginning with the very warm welcome by our friendly hosts, Mrs. Penelope and her husband, in the evening of our arrival and again the next morning with lots of raki and delicious cheese. A plate of fruits on the table, everything for a first breakfast in the fridge, even a bottle of wine for the first evening. The property was well-maintained and clean, everything very convenient and homely. It is positioned only a two minutes walk from village center with shops and restaurants (Makis the best) and only one minute to the beach. The views from the balconies over the bay are beautiful. The only little negative point is, that one of the showers was out of order. But the remaining two showers were more than sufficient for our group of 6.

I will surely recommend this house to friends and hope to come back someday soon to such friendly hosts who even gave everybody a goodbye present.

Penelope Home is located in Panormo village, a beautiful seafront village with a lovely view overlooking the Cretan Sea.

It is the most central location of the island of Crete and from here you can visit the whole island. It is only 22 km from Rethymno and 56 km from Heraklion town.

Panormo has all kinds of shops such as supermarkets, pharmacies, traditional taverns, cafes, restaurants and some of the best sandy beaches in North coast of Crete and everything can be reached on foot from the house.
