With the Wolds Way and the Centenary Way right on your doorstep, these cottages are a walkers’ paradise. They lie on a working farm, with both livestock and arable crops, and are perched on the hills above Flixton, with sea views in the distance. At the front of the cottages you will see lots of wildlife - from hares boxing to the odd fox or deer crossing the fields. For birdwatchers, there are many species to spot, especially the owls hunting at dusk. The North York Moors are just a short drive away where you can catch the steam train from Pickering to Whitby. Yorkshire is famous for its stately homes, and Sledmere House is just a short drive away. The beaches of Scarborough and Filey are just a short drive, and York is less than an hour by car. Hull, voted the City of Culture 2017, is also within an hour’s drive and hosts concerts, festivals and shows. The market towns of Beverley and Driffield are great places to spend an afternoon wandering around the shops and market, then stopping at one of the great cafés or bistros around the squares. Beach 7 miles. Shop 5 miles, pub and restaurant 1½ miles. These cottages can be booked together to accommodate up to 4 people.
