A sweet two story, one bedroom unit with kitchen, living room and shower bathroom. Located in one of Pasadena's most beautiful and architecturally distinguished neighborhoods. Walking distance to theater, movies, restaurants and museums. There is street parking with a nightly fee of three dollars.

The unit has an adjacent patio and garden, outdoor dining, and wifi and cable television. It is air-conditioned and heated and newly remodeled A fresh, efficient and comfortable space but if you are a tall or wide football player it might feel a little too charmingly petite.

About Philip Nix

This house has been in our family for over forty years. While regularly upgraded it retains the charm of an early 20th century home. As a young couple we first moved to this area in 1972. with our one year old son. Shortly after my wife's mother moved in down the street into this address. After years in Sonoma County after retirement we returned to be close to family and the interests and variety of urban life in a beautiful city. Pasadena has a long and fascinating history with all the glitter of now and the charm of a gracious past.

Great stay

Philip was extremely hospitable, and has a great garden property. We were able to walk to family nearby, and several stores and restaurants. Beautiful, quiet neighborhood, with roses everywhere, shade trees, and parrots.

Other reviews have mentioned the property is best for "smaller guests". That is true, but even with sloped ceilings, queen bed, and a shower for shorter people, I did very well at 6'4". We will be back!

Owner's Response: Steve was one of the most gracious guests ever. He was more concerned that i would worry he would be uncomfortable. However the roses this year make all things beauitful. I guess at 6'4" he has had his share of being adaptable! Great couple. Looking forward to their return to see the new granddaughter.

Charming and serene

This was the perfect home base for visiting family in Pasadena and LA, with comfortable, charming accommodations, gracious hosts, and a lovely neighborhood. We were within walking distance to everything in Pasadena.

It is absolutely an amazing house as advertised. The neighbourhood is quiet and conveniently located. Philip is really patient and nice, he has also prepared snacks and breakfast for us. Perfect stay in Pasadena! Would definetely recommend.

Enjoyed our stay!

We recently enjoyed a week’s stay at this property. We loved the location, a beautiful neighborhood close to businesses, shopping, and restaurants. (Pasadena has LOTS of great restaurants!) The unit is quite comfortable for two people who are not too tall nor too wide. All needs were provided plus extras…wine, breakfast, lots of books! It was unusually cold while we were there and the upstairs heating unit was on the blink. We made do with a space heater and the bed’s warm down comforter. Philip was a gracious host and we would have enjoyed even more opportunities to chat with him!

We enjoyed our stay. The property was clean, cozy and well stocked. Would stay there again.

Phillip and Susan are great hosts. They had provided wine, chips and dip for our arrival. For breakfast the next day they had bagels, waffles, eggs and fruit. They were very helpful to familiarize us with things to do locally. We utilized Uber for transportation needs and were pleased with the results. I highly recommend visiting the Huntington estate and gardens just 2+ miles away. Colorado street is an easy 15 to 20 minute walk north through nice neighborhoods. THe shower is small and cramped and would not be suitable for those 6' or above in height.

Wonderful, cozy and private.

Philip was a wonderful host. The apartment is small but very sweet and comfortable. I would absolutely recommend this listing to anyone looking for a place in Pasadena who does not require a lot of space. I definitely plan to stay here again if possible when I am back in town.
