Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday cabin in Casper Mountain

*WE ARE NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING RESERVATIONS FOR THE SOLAR ECLIPSE IN AUGUST 2017*

This fully furnished Casper Mountain Vacation Rental offers many comforts of home, and is the perfect place to enjoy a restful getaway. With 1 private BR, a loft, and 1 Bath this mountain cabin sleeps 8 guests.

Check-in time 3:00 p.m.

Check-out time 11:00 a.m.

This rustic cabin is located on top of Casper Mountain, and offers a close proximity to hiking, mountain biking/fat biking, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, skiing (XC and alpine), fine dining, museums and shopping. Experience the benefits of Forest Bathing. Kick up your heels at the annual Beartrap Meadow Bluegrass Festival. Hike Garden Creek Falls, or have fun at the annual Winterfest which includes "HAWG" Ice Fishing Derby, Boomerang Run at Hogadon, ColdAvenger Triathlon, and Canines for Charity Sled Dog Race. Test your skills on Casper Mountain's Olympic quality Biathlon training course. At this cabin you can enjoy a friendly game of horseshoes, roasting marshmallows on a campfire, bird watching, or even capture photos of the mule deer that graze on the property daily throughout the summer. Wind down in the evening playing a board game, a game of Bumper pool, or cards on our conveniently reversible table top.

On the main level of the cabin you will find an open floor plan with a sitting area, a private bedroom, a bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen- refrigerator/freezer, electric 4-burner stove with oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, pots and pans, and plenty of dishes and cutlery. The farm house style table in the kitchen seats 6, with an additional dining area that seats 4.

The sitting area has plenty of seating with 2 recliners, a sofa, and a large window for outdoor viewing. A 42' television, DVD player and stereo are also available to wind down after a long day of hiking, biking, etc.

The private bedroom has a queen sized Amish made log bed and two matching night stands. On the loft, there are two full size beds, and a set of twin bunk beds. A queen sofa sleeper with memory foam mattress is also available if needed. In addition a large closet is available for hanging clothes, storing luggage, and personal items.

The bathroom comes equipped with a stand-up shower, toilet, and sink.

Relax on the back deck with a 2 person porch swing, and a 4 place fire-pit table that adds the perfect ambiance to a fantastic view of the evening stars above the treetops. A horseshoe pit, a charcoal barbeque grill, and picnic table for outdoor dining are also available for your use. In addition a large outdoor fire pit, located in a clearing, is available for roasting hotdogs, marshmallows, making s’mores, and gathering around for some good old fashioned campfire stories.

PLEASE BE ADVISED: It is imperative to be forthcoming with the number of guests when booking your reservation, as well as ANY guests you invite over during your stay. By definition all persons with your party are considered guests. If you book our cabin for 4 guests, we plan and prepare for 4 guests. If you plan on up to 8 guests “sleeping” at the cabin, but have planned to hold your family reunion there as well, this is not the vacation rental for you. Our cabin/property will not accommodate more than 8 guests (including visitors). We do check, we will find out, and violators will be immediately evicted.

Our guests have come to expect a spotlessly clean cabin upon their arrival. There is a substantial difference in the time required to clean after 2 guests, and 8 (or more) guests. We need the appropriate amount of time to plan and prepare for ALL of our guests.

In addition, city water is not available on the mountain so the water supply is not unlimited. Fresh water from a water fill station is hauled up the mountain and held in a cistern. Should the number of guests exceed what we have planned and prepared for it is possible to drain the cistern dry, and burn up the water pump. NOTE; Water shortage will only be an issue if the number of guests at our cabin exceeds the number we were made aware of. Guests who have not been forthcoming with the number of guests (including visitors) at our cabin will be held responsible for all costs associated with water pump repair or replacement, any damage caused to the water system, and any additional expenses we incur to clean the cabin for the arrival of our next guests.

About Dave and Gerri

Owners Dave and Gerri at a glance: Both are Wyoming natives and reside in Casper. Happily married for 21 years

Dave and Gerri purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Dave and Gerri chose Wyoming

That's simple, the small town hospitality and atmosphere Casper provides while still offering the many perks of a larger city. We purchased the mountain cabin property because we've always enjoyed the fresh mountain air and the serene feeling of being miles away from anywhere.

Amazing!

This is a beautiful place to stay with all the comforts of home. It is secluded on the mountain, yet only a short drive to town in case you forgot anything. There are many activities and sight seeing view points in the area. To top it all off, I don't think you could find nicer people to rent from.

Beautiful mountain cabin!

  • 5 of 5

My 2 kids and I had a wonderful 8 day stay at this property! Many times we saw deer right off the back porch in the morning and at sunset. The decor inside the cabin is stunning- so pretty! There wasn't any internet service, but text messages seemed to work most of the time. There was a nice collection of movies in the tv stand, and the kids and I really enjoyed cuddling under blankets on the couch and watching them. I didn't do much cooking, but there was plenty of kitchenware if I wanted to. We loved our stay in this cabin and highly recommend it for other families.

Rest, Relax, Repeat

Dave & Gerri have provided a wonderfully homey cabin. Gerri met us in town with a big smile, led us up the mountain to the cabin, and spent just a short amount of time showing us around. She understood we were excited to be there and to get moved in and make the cabin our own for the week. The cabin had more than enough room for the three of us and was incredibly clean. It was also well supplied - the kitchen is big and fully equipped; and the closets are full of extra blankets, games, puzzles, and more! Dave and Gerri provide plenty of maps, magazines, and brochures with great information for anything you might want to do on or off the mountain. None of us wanted to leave this perfect place of respite.

Beautiful, private, awesome.

  • 5 of 5

This was a great place to stay. Not that far from town. Not a road you want to speed on. For saftey mainly but i did see some sherrifs out. 30-35 mph road for the most part. Parts are gravel. Still only takes 15-20 min to get to town, Slow down and enjoy the view. Pretty steep road. Use your gears or your brakes will get hot when coming down into town. Would be interesting at the least if the road was snowy. 4x4 recommended for fall and spring just incase.

Privacy is awesome. You have to unlock and lock the gate every time you leave or come in. That's a good thing. Very private. Don't worry it's not a barbed wire gate, and it wont take the wife and kids to get it open and closed, It is very easy.

Outside deck was awesome. We did not have a fire in the little pit but furniture and table/pit was very nice. We're talking a small fire not any thing big in this table pit. I imagine just big enough to illuminate the people around it. Twigs n stuff. Not really logs. Trees were awesome. Wind could be blowing 90 in town and it is so sheltered by trees there that is is just beautiful outside. Nice horseshoe pit. BBQ.

Awesome inside. It was cool weather when we went and the wood stove was stoked both nights. It worked well as long as you can start a fire. There was not much for kindling, but it was spring And still 5' snow drifts all around cabin, they also have some food fire starting logs in the cabin. Oh and the blower motor switch on the wall. Pay attention when Dave shows you that. Lol. Only took about 30 min of wondering. Haha.

Master bed kind of wanted to roll to middle. But when your use to sleeping on a king size bed its always tuff. The living room dining room and kitchen were all great and well equipped.

This was just awesome. If your going to casper for a couple of nights or more, this is where you want to stay. Hands down. The best.

Serenity now!

  • 5 of 5

We had gorgeous weather this past weekend, over Memorial Day. The cabin was, as expected, clean and welcoming and practical and all things you'd get at a luxury suite hotel...only more. Dave and Gerri are wonderful hosts, ready to offer their services any time. We visited the Werner Wildlife Museum and had a great time, exploring town.

On the first day, we walked down the hill and over the next rise. Just a gorgeous setting for a getaway from the kids and real life. In this Rustic Mountain Getaway in Casper, WY, it's so easy to dream big. Thanks Dave and Gerri for another wonderful experience. We highly recommend this spot for families, couples, and friends... you'll relax and forget what was stressing you out and made you find this spot in the first place.

My friend and I had a great time at the property - we were in-town to fish the Grey Reef and did not want to stay in a hotel. Dave and Gerri were very accommodating , and the property was beautiful!
