Overview

About the property

A bright, 1-bedroom Regency flat on Mornington Crescent, fully refurbished

My beautiful, light Regency flat on Mornington Crescent has recently been fully refurbished and tastefully decorated.

IT IS THE TOP-RATED PROPERTY IN THE WHOLE OF CAMDEN on the other well-known social accommodation site with over 150 five-star reviews! I am now listing it here for the first time.

It's quiet, but just 2 minutes (200m) from the Tube, which is direct to Oxford St, Covent Garden, Trafalgar Sq and the South Bank.

I live here mid-week, every week, so I've had time to get the details right - the bed is comfortable, the internet is fast and the shower is powerful.

It's my home for half the year. It can be your perfect London retreat for the other half.

The building and architecture are a perfect example of 1820s elegance, but everything within has been renovated recently to take advantage of light, space and modern convenience.

I live here half the year, so the bed is top quality -- king-size with a memory-foam mattress and goose-down duvet.

The living-room has large windows, with a huge sofa and comfortable reading-chair, a 40-inch (101cm) internet-connected smart-TV, a Bose sound system and superfast 70MB/s wireless internet.

It is open plan onto the kitchen, which has great facilities: dish-washer, toaster, kettle, Nespresso with Aeroccino, washer-dryer, fridge-freezer, oven, induction hob/cooktop, extractor, iron and ironing-board.

The bathroom has a big shower with 2 shower-heads.

And I've ensured there's lots of storage -- there's a large bedside cupboard and double wardrobe for your use, as well as space in the kitchen cupboards.

The only thing to note is that this is an old building - the floors creak, the walls wiggle and you don't get the sound-proofing you'd find in a modern building - so please be respectful and understanding of my neighbours.

If you don't know the area, you're in for a treat. The road is quiet, but I live here because it's so close to Euston station (10 minute walk) and I can go running in Regent's Park (3 minutes run away).

10 minutes walk to the north is Camden Lock Market with its crowd of amazing fresh food stalls. I'm surrounded by Camden's shops and bars, and 2 minutes from Mornington Crescent underground station and some good local restaurants. St Pancras and the train to Paris are about 15 minutes walk away.

Mornington Crescent underground station is 2 minutes from the flat, and it's a 10-minute train ride from there to Oxford St, Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square and the South Bank.

From the same place buses also take you direct to Oxford St, Regent St, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, Tate Britain, Westminster Abbey, Bloomsbury, Notting Hill, Kensington, Baker St, the City and even Hampstead Heath.

But when you can walk to so many amazing places -- Camden, Primrose Hill, Regents Park, Fitzrovia, Bloomsbury -- you might not use public transport as much as you'd expect. In fact, Google Maps will tell you it's just 31 minutes walk to Oxford Circus - the corner of Oxford St and Regent's St and the shopping heart of London.

You'll have the place to yourself. Enjoy it.

Keys: available Mon-Fri 9am-5:30pm.

Otherwise keys should be no problem if you give me a few days warning.

Well organized

  • 4 of 5

The flat is user friendly, well organized and thoughtfully equipped. The owner communicates clearly and promptly. The location is convenient. The entrance to the building is not appealing because it is messy. This is beyond the control of the owner of the flat. The only problem I encountered was a slippery shower and no surface to put toiletries in the bathroom. But the bed was very comfortable and the bed linen excellent.

Chic, quiet, but close to everything you'd want in a London visit!

  • 5 of 5

Piers' flat is perfect for someone who's been to London a few times, and wants to be slightly off the beaten path but still close to everything. It's very chic and up to date with a little bit of a sense of humor (I was a big fan of the dog portraits in the bedroom). Key pickup and checkout were both easy, and Piers is very responsive. I definitely enjoyed our stay, and would comeback in the future.

great place

  • 5 of 5

we stayed for a week end Friday & Saturday nights and we had a great time. The flat is well situated close to tube station, very quiet at night.

Nice bright and clean flat, really good bed, well equipped.

Good communication with the host, we will be back if we are back in London.

Perfect Camden Apartment

  • 5 of 5

Piers was a good host and very responsive prior to my stay. I really liked the location - only steps from a pub, the tube, bus stops and a grocery store. The apartment itself is just like the pictures and quite comfortable. All furnishings and supplies are high quality and well maintained. I appreciated the coffee capsules provided by the host. Only two notes of caution to other travelers: the bathroom is tiny and you will not be able to store anything here, if the upstairs neighbor is home, you will notice the footsteps. Neither of these bothered me, but I could see how they might be an issue for others. I should also note that the noise issue was present in the other apartment I stayed at in London, so may be par for the course here. I would stay here again when visiting this area!

Would definitely recommend staying at this apartment for your time in London! It was very tidy and well decorated. In a great neighborhood, close to the tube station, lots of restaurants nearby. Very comfy bed. Piers was easy to communicate with and responsive.
