Pleasant owners, home is showing wear

  • 3 of 5

Owners were pleasant to work with. Home is showing wear. There is ample space to gather outside as a family. Inside seating is very limited for family gathering. As such rain/cold require floor seating, the kitchen cabinets are worn and dirty inside, many lights not working in home, showers are not the cleanest, floors are worn and furniture needs good cleaning, kitchen chairs held together with zip ties. Several outside chairs torn or broken. House needs a very good cleaning overall, neighbors were friendly, pretty morning sunrise.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback. We are extremely disappointed that the property was not up to what we consider our standards and wish you would have reached out at any point! We would have been more than happy to send the cleaners back out to rectify the items. We rely on our renters to provide feedback and take this very seriously. All items will be addressed and updated as quickly as possible.

Relaxing, Just Like Home Stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a great experience, both in communicating with the owners and in all the comforts of home during our stay here. Every question was answered quickly both before and during our stay. Very reassuring. Actually you won't have many questions while staying as every anticipated need is covered in the info left by the owners and how easily it is all set up for you. We traveled all the way from Sydney, Australia to visit friends and family (as we had moved from Derry, NH to Australia a few years ago) so it was especially wonderful to arrive after 24 hours of travel to a comfy, peaceful home away from home. Waking to the gorgeous sunrises over the lake and the absolute quiet of the neighborhood was amazing. The kids enjoyed the lake, kayaking and canoeing, and even getting to swim a few days as we had some beautiful September weather. We were able to relax and let friends and family come to visit us, creating some wonderful lasting memories. Every comfort of home, comfy bedrooms, stocked kitchen, made it easy to settle in for our two week stay. Highly recommend staying here and hope to return on our next visit home.

Great place for family.... relaxing and getting back to the simple life

  • 5 of 5

We rented Amy and Eric's house in late June 2016 for a week. Upon arrival, I was relieved to find the house in the condition that the pictures showed. The house has been recently redone and is clean, modern and has everything you need. The bathrooms were clean, the bedrooms were a nice size and because of the layout of the house is very quiet upstairs when the kids are being loud downstairs and visa verse. The house is well stocked with linens, towels, pots, pans, a blender, and even basic kitchen spices, etc...

The yard, deck and lake are fantastic. The deck is large and well lit at night. There is a sand table on the deck and a picnic table for the kids. In the yard there is a swing set our kids used a ton. The fire pit was great for night time smores and family fun. The best of the best is the dock and the swimming area. My kids couldn't get enough of fishing off the dock and swimming in the shallow walk-in area of the pond. It is such a nice piece of property and the neighbors were all very nice. We would definitely return.

Although the house isn't super close to a lot of things (you aren't walking anywhere), it is close enough for short trips to some fun places. We drove 30 minutes to Portsmouth for one afternoon, we drove 20 minutes one night to Hampton beach (beautiful real beach) to watch fireworks and see the sand castle competition and another day we went to Canobie Lake Park (amusement park) and all those things were so much fun. You are close enough to restaurants, coffee shops and grocery stores for anything you need.

Amy was super attentive and helpful. She addressed all of our needs and questions super quickly and was a great resource for information about the area and house. Can't say enough great things about this trip but my son said "mom this was better than Disney World!"

Do yourself a favor and rent this house for you next trip!

Best break ever - Christmas on the Lake

  • 5 of 5

I grew up in Kingston and we needed a place to stay whilst visiting over Christmas. What a beautiful and cosy place to use as a base over the holidays The cottage was really a home away from home.

We were so comfortable and relaxed -- complete with stockings hung and a little Christmas tree. Our 5 and 7 year olds were delighted! Santa even found his way despite the fog!

Sunrise over the lake each day took our breaths away and we feel so lucky we found this lovely place!

Already planning our summers here too!

Amy was super helpful and answered all our queries. Wonderful hosts!

The cottage has everything you need to make for a comfortable stay and more!

Relaxing Fall Rental

  • 5 of 5

What a great house and location to enjoy a beautiful Fall! I stayed at the house for three months while working in the area. It was great to relax on the deck and listen to music on the outdoor Sonos sound system. Kayaking on the lake was fun. I didn't try out the canoe, but that was also available. The house had everything I needed for a three month's stay. The owners were great to work with and very accommodating for me and my dog.
