Mark & Velvet Anderson,
Born and raised in the Flathead Valley.
We live in Kalispell MT.
Velvet Anderson purchased this bungalow in 2015
We chose this property because of Mark's love of fishing, and what a beautifully different area this is. It just feels like home. Two of our adult children live in Bozeman, so it is a perfect place to meet in the middle for a weekend get away.
When Sunday arrives, none of us want to go home. That speaks volumes about this place!
When you walk through the entry door and see the large wall of windows overlooking the river and rock cliff landscape, you are just in awe of our little slice of heaven!
I must say, our neighbors are wonderful. We could not ask for better people to be
a part of our weekend get away place.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The cabin is well appointed, clean and has clear instructions. It is right on the river in a gorgeous setting. The owners go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. Couldn't ask for anything more. Recommended!
Great home and perfect setting right on the Missouri River. The owners are very accommodating and handled an obscure, off-hours request which we were very thankful for. We would go back if we were in that area no doubt.
Yes, you have to drive over small mountain to access the property... But, this should not be a barrier... It litterly takes 5 minutes. Who cares? The house is very well appointed with comfortable beds/furniture with a cool cabin chic design and has a great layout. I would definitely stay here again. Perfect for floats between Craig and mid-canon. Set up, logistics, and communication with Velvet were simple and straightforward. Thanks!
Very pleasant location, right on the river with a great view of the cliffs beyond. Deer were grazing on the lawn between the house and the water every eve and morning. Access from the Fwy. was a tad circuitous but took only about 5 minutes but it is a scenic drive up over a small ridge with great views of the river valley; frankly we enjoyed it. The general location for fishing the Missouri is excellent as it is between Craig and Cascade.
We loved The Mighty Mo! I am very picky and could hardly believe it when this house turned out to be even better than described. Every decision has been thought out. This house has been thoughtfully decorated, as opposed to using old stuff with mismatched crap everywhere. It is tasteful without being kitschy. The bathrooms are beautiful. Although the master bath is very large and the second bath quite small, we floated and shared. The beds were all comfortable-even the couch with its amazing "air" bed. We placed the air mattress on top of the master bed during the day so as not to have to deflate and reinflate each day, then used the couch as usual! The yard was lovely, the bar b que a great treat!. We pulled our chairs down to the rivers edge and watched the fishermen float by. (Plus neighbors on both sides fished from the shore.)
Traveling to the house from HWY 15 does seem crazy, as after winding up and down and all around on a (fairly nice) dirt road, you're about 200 yrds from the highway! Actually it's only a few minutes drive
Internet service is sketchy but does work! (The couch was a good spot) No phone service but we didn't care. We gave the home number to our family members who could call the house if necessary.
The house is totally fitted for cooking (from prep to serve- almost everything you might need) and there was a LOT of food in the cupboards and fridge. We weren't sure if it was left behind by previous renters or belonged to the owner. Perhaps some distinctions should be made as we bought a lot of items that were already there (mustard, sugar, coffee-etc)
Basically the vibe of The Mighty Mo is SO aesthetically relaxing and comfortable, that combined with the beautiful Missouri flowing by, it is truly Montana at its best. This is a perfect spot for those who fish, AND those who don't.
PS. If I had to make any suggestions (so you don't think I'm the owners' best friend- ha ha)
Thin blinds for the main windows in the lvng rm.
Check out at 11 instead of 10. Having to load the dishwasher, etc all by ten really rushed the last morning, (especially when paying that cleaning fee.)
The ONLY speck of dust was dog hair (the owners?) when we pulled out the couch bed. One of us has acute allergies and booked partly because of the no pet policy.
I don't know how, but maybe some place for the living room sleepers to put their stuff besides the floor. a couple luggage racks in the closet with the hammock?
The house was very clean and a nice place to stay. It is a great spot for a family or group. Beds and pillows were comfortable and the scenery off the back porch is amazing! I would definitely come back and recommend this place.
