About the property

Grooms Yard , Singleton - a cottage that sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms

Tucked away in the quaint village of Singleton, Grooms Yard is a comfy retreat away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Only a ten minute drive from Chichester and Goodwood this is a perfect spot to enjoy everything our region has to offer.

Once part of an old English Pub this three floor cottage has been beautifully converted into a holiday cottage suitable for all the family.

The living area is designed for comfort with a large wood burner with logs readily available throughout the year. The large television has free sat and a DVD player so you really can snuggle down and chill out at the end of long day of exploring.

Enjoy the private garden in front of the house through a short courtyard area. With a large lawn and outdoors dining area it makes an excellent spot to dine out, enjoy the sunshine with BBQ or simply sit back with a glass of something cool and fizzy.

There is a good sized kitchen with everything you will need to self-cater during your stay, when not out dining at one of the local pubs! The kitchen includes, kettle, dishwasher, cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, iron and ironing board. In the ground floor WC you will find a washing machine for family use.

The cottage has three bedrooms, one large master double bedroom including a shower over the bath en- suite, one further double bedroom and twin room in the converted loft area. There is one family bathroom with shower over the bath.

Free Wifi is available at the cottage. Two parking spaces are available.

Location

Car: recommended

The attractive village of Singleton is located close to the centre of the South Downs National Park and offers a rural village feel, combined with the convenience of having the city of Chichester within a few minutes' drive, as well as so many things to do right on the doorstep. Goodwood race course and motor racing circuit just minutes away, as are the Goodwood Estate's two golf courses. The Weald and Downland Open Air Museum, which offers a wonderful glimpse at the history of architecture, farming and rural life in the area is just a short walk away. The village has a very popular pub, The Partridge Inn, about 50 yards down the road from the cottage. The pub serves good food and is particularly popular for Sunday lunch. The historic cathedral city of Chichester is just a few miles to the south and offers a great selection of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars to suit all tastes. A short drive to the north is the town of Midhurst and the Cowdray Estate, famous for being home to polo in England, hosting the Gold Cup every summer.

A little further afield, the cities of Portsmouth and Brighton are easily accessible by either road or rail from Chichester. Portsmouth, home to the Royal Navy since 1194, has attractions including the Mary Rose, HMS Warrior and HMS Victory, as well as shopping at Gunwharf Quays with its iconic Spinnaker Tower. Brighton is famous for its shopping, offering an eclectic range of independent shops along the narrow pathways of The Lanes.
