The neighbourhood

Eaton Place is conveniently located within close proximity to all the amenities Knightsbridge and Sloane Square have to offer.

Belgravia is one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods in London. Centrally located, near Knightsbridge, it is considered a safe area with tree-lined streets and garden squares. The area boasts a diverse selection of shopping and entertainment opportunities, including restaurants, theatres, bars, et al. Eaton Place is within walking distance of the designer boutiques of Sloane Street (Gucci, Dior, Versace, Hermes, Giorgio Armani, Prada, etc.) and Harrods.

Situated near the open spaces of Green Park and Hyde Park, with its famous Speakers’ Corner and Serpentine Lake, which is particularly spectacular around Christmas when it is transformed into a Winter Wonderland.

Getting around

The apartment is located a short bus/taxi ride from the West End and lively Soho district. Utilising nearby Knightsbridge underground station you can take in the sights of Piccadilly Circus (5 mins), Leicester Square (7 mins) and Covent Garden (9 mins).

The location was great - the flat was nice but "dated". Would have been nice if the rooms had a couple of fans since it does not have air-conditioning and London was unusually warm during our stay. Ceiling fan did not work in master bedroom. Also no directions provided on how to use the TV - never did get the TV to actually work. Also no directions on how to connect to internet. Floor was dirty and appeared under repair.

The flat itself is first rate marred only by the lack of support by the managing company.

For weeks in advance of our stay we attempted to contact the property manager to arrange a time to meet at the flat. Phone calls and emails went unanswered to the point I began to wonder if the listing might be a scam. We arrived on a cold wet morning and the only thing that kept us from waiting shivering on the street was the kindness of a workman already in the flat. The agent arrived late, stayed ten minutes and departed. The flat is as shown on the VRBO site. It is clean, bright and equipped with high end furnishings and appliances. It would profit greatly from a bookelet familiarizing the guest with the operation of these appliances and an introduction to the local area. We've stayed in many VRBO accommodations and this is the first time we've found this lacking. Calls to the agent went unanswered and appointments went unkept for three days. Waiting for the agent to respond or arrive consumed much of our time on the second day of our stay. In the end the agent did provide us with the details we needed and our remaining two days were quite enjoyable. The flat is lovely but to answer the question "Would we stay there again?", we would have to respond "No". We might not find a better property but we believe we would find more responsive management.

Excellent London holiday

While we did not stay in the originally reserved flat, our stay was excellent. When we inquired about check-in procedure the weekend before we traveled, we found out the flat we rented (6969280) and paid for in Sept. was unavailable. Anna had another property in Cadogan Square that was available and had us stay there. The flat worked perfectly for us. Plenty of room. Easy access to tubes, Hyde Park, Sloan Square and Knightsbridge. We even hosted Christmas Eve dinner for our family in London. Flat came with everything we needed, and the towel-warming racks in the bathrooms were a nice touch.

Acceptable unit

Flat is as it appears in pictures and we were allowed to check in early which was very helpful given we arrived at noon with all luggage in tow.. Owner is not overly helpful to questions about the flat and we gave up on asking questions. The “dryer” for clothes is really just a drying rack given the combo washer/dryer unit doesn’t really dry the clothes. TV didn’t work while we were there. Location is quiet and safe but a good walk away from food,grocery and tubes. We ended up Ubering a lot. Not a bad property but I would find a different location as a tourist next time and given the $$$ we paid per night, I would hope for better communication and support from next property manager.

Lovely apartment

The apartment could not have been better. It was just as lovely as the pictures showed, with spacious bedrooms (with modern ensuite bathrooms) and a wonderful living room and dining room. The owner was very responsive to any questions we had during our stay. The location was excellent. Just a short walk to great shopping and dining areas (Harrods was truly about a ten minute walk). Many of London's sites were within a 30 minute walk or a quick underground trip (with the closest station very close to the apartment). We could not have been more pleased.
