Remodeled two story house on beautiful Camp Bay. Steps to a dock and beach swimming area. We have a boat lift at the dock that can accept up to a 24-foot boat, or you can moor your boat at the dock. A fire pit is located on a bluff near the house with a panoramic view of the bay and the mountains across the lake. The two story house has three bedrooms, which can sleep six. One fold-out sofa bed in the living room can sleep an additional person and two more fold out sofas on the lower floor can sleep an additional two. The setting, near the woods, provides many opportunities to walk along the bay or through the forest. Mountain biking, jogging, kayaking (three are provided for your use) provide ample opportunities for outdoor activities. Fishing can be done from the kayaks, or the small vessels can be used for paddling and sight-seeing along the bay. The house is fully furnished, has a large screen television downstairs with Internet movies, a pool table, and small bar. Upstairs is the full kitchen, with range/oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, disposal cooking pots/pans, silverware, dinnerware, etc. Bottled drinking water is provided, as the water is filtered with an ultraviolet (UV) system, but pumped from the lake. The living room also has a flat screen t.v. and access to two large decks that provide a panoramic view of Camp Bay. A gradual stairway provides access to an open fire pit and to the dock and beach area. Camp Bay is very peaceful and provides a relaxing place to enjoy beautiful Lake Pend Oreille and the national forest lands that surround it. This is heaven on earth!

About John Kearns
We, John and Melody, purchased this property in 2013, remodeled it and have used it for summer and winter vacations. We want to offer others the chance to enjoy this property as we have. We live in Coeur' d alene Idaho.John loves to boat. Melody is a designer at heart and tries to make this a fun place for our kids and family to visit. Its been a place to help get our older kids off the electronics. Cell phones don't always work, so they often explore, play games and use the firepit to make smores. We have a growing collection of movies. We love to go to the Captains Table for dinners or stop for snack attacks at Odie's General Store in Garfield Bay. If we need more there's always the stores in Sandpoint, or the larger grocery stores, ore can stop at Pie Hut for dessert to go.
John Kearns purchased this House in 2013
Why John Kearns chose Sagle
It's located on a beautiful and quiet Camp Bay, with a view of the Cabinet Mountains and expansive Lake Pend Oreille. Eagles soar and catch fish in the bay. The breezes pick up at night as do the waves. It is relaxing to hear the waves sounding like ocean waves (is your boat on the lift or securely tied up?) just outside the french door off the master bedroom.
What makes this House unique
This peaceful setting on Camp Bay offers visitors the chance to enjoy the unspoiled beauty of Lake Pend Oreille with only the soothing sound of a breeze through the trees and the occasional cry of an eagle flying overhead with a freshly caught fish in its talons. Come and enjoy this experience for yourself! Also, excellent fishing for huge Rainbows and Lake Trout in the largest lake in Idaho.

Our 3rd stay at John’s cabin
Another wonderful stay at John’s Camp Bay cabin. His son greeted us upon arrival and helped us get settled in. He gave us boat launch instructions as this was the first year we brought a boat. Launching was seemless at the neighbouring Garfield Bay.
We spent everyday on the water and the evenings fishing, BBQing or watching movies in the basement (there is quite the movie library to choose from).
As always, the cabin was fully stocked with everything we needed, and we only needed to grab our own food in Sandpoint before making our way out to the cabin. We re-played the bear game and found 54 this trip (not sure how we only found 14 last year?).
Thanks again for a wonderful stay, John. Your cabin has become a staple of happiness in our past three summers and we can’t wait to visit again. Cheers!
Thanks Steve. You're always welcome as a valued guest! We look forward to seeing you next year! John
We loved our stay at what property! John was very friendly & easy to deal with.
When we arrived at the cabin we were a bit flustered but once we were settled the stay was great. The view looking out onto the bay from the top deck makes this property what it is.
We brought our boat & loved being able to have our private dock. Make sure your prepared to put the boat in at Garfield Bay...the launch at Camp Bay wouldn’t work for a ski boat. Access to the kayaks was such a bonus for our family!
We are coffee drinkers and the place was very well stocked with coffee pods which was awesome. Had everything you would need.
The cabin was spacious and comfortable.
Great cabin. Lovely lake rental.
We greatly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful lake cabin. The cabin was well furnished and set up for a relaxing stay. The lake access was perfect for our kids to enjoy swimming and kayaking in the lake. This is a delightful vacation spot and we would definitely stay here again!
Thanks for the wonderful review!!! John and Melody
Great June vacation
Great location and view. Brought our boat and enjoyed the awesome lake. Fished and saw the sights and visited the Floating Restaurant in Hope. Surprisingly we found ourselves watching clouds and sunsets. Not sure that I realize we’ve not taken the time to slow down and relax. Large dvd/blue ray collection was nice to use. Used the kitchen extensively and felt it was just about right. Seems like a place we could return to yearly.
Hi Bret and Laurie,
Thanks for the great review. I'm glad you both had a good, relaxing vacation. I hope you will return year after year. We'd love to see you again! John
Excellent location, quiet, stunning views
John was a great host, drove us right to the property all the way from Coeur d'Alene and gave us the tour. The pictures don't do it justice. This IS a cabin, not a 5 star resort, but it is a wonderful place. The pictures don't do it justice. Bedrooms are BIG and the play room downstairs has a pool table and a little bar area. There is also a huge TV/movie room that is so full of movies, we just watched DVDs and made popcorn. There are other movie services, but we didn't need them. Internet was fine, but as John mentioned, cell service was spotty. Kitchen is on the main level had everything we needed, including pots, pans, dishware, etc. There is a microwave and two coffee makers. There is a small table in the kitchen, but there is a HUGE table in the dining area right next to the kitchen. Plenty of couches and chairs in the upstairs living room and the downstairs living room. Bunk beds in the 2 kids rooms and a really nice master with a king-sized bed and separate bath. Another bath is right by the entrance.
There are 3 view decks outside, the dock is awesome, Kayaks were really great, and yes, we caught fish off the dock, even though the lake had a lot of silt in the water and no one else was getting anything. I got 2 rainbows and a small mouth off the dock and we caught several of Pikeminnows each day (don't let the word minnow fool you, one was four pounds!) and we just used spinners - no live bait.
We also joined the people who counted the bears and moose in various places in the cabin, but we couldn't reach agreement! I had 34 bears, 27 moose but my wife and kids had different numbers.
We hiked the area as well - it's stunning in the woods. Spent time on the deck eating meals and the most fun for the family was the fire pit for s'mores and hot dogs (separately, of course).
Being only about 20 minutes from Sandpoint and less than an hour from Coeur d'Alene, we had fun exploring the area.
John gave us a LOT of bottled water, as the water in the house comes from the lake. It IS filtered, so we only used it for showers and used the bottled for cooking and drinking. I always said, however, if there was any lake in the US I would drink directly from it would be Pend O'rielle. Cabin was clean and plenty of towels and bed linens.
The only issue we had (a water filter needed replacement) was handled quickly by John. Nice to know he was always available.
Can't wait to go again.
Thank you Peter for your wonderful review!!! I'm looking forward to seeing you and your family again when you return! John Kearns
This place is very special. It is so peaceful and the view is spectacular. The house was immaculately clean and supplied with everything you could need. We loved hanging by the fire pit with plenty of wood to keep a warm fire going. A very cool place !!
Thank you very much Brent for the great review. I hope you will return soon. John
Have fun on the lake. Many fun activities are adjacent to the house or nearby.
