A really quality villa in a quiet area just a ten/fifteen minute walk from the centre and some lovely restaurants and a very clean beach. Suggest a taxi on the way back sometimes as it is quite a steep walk in the sun. The local taxi service was first class and very reliable. The villa had everything our family (Mum, Dad, Grandma, Grandad, a 15 and a 9 year old) needed and more - it is spacious, clean, modern with all 'mod cons'. The pool is large and has a shallow walk in area and a deeper end and lots of inflatables to help the fun. It was very clean and the pool man came three times during our 12 day stay to keep it that way. The BBQ area was great - we used it twice and the local supermarkets all have coals etc. Baptista supermarket was the best of the bunch and did a free of charge delivery for a couple of bigger shops that we did - great and timely service. The bedrooms were ample sized and the master suite is massive. The decking area overlooking the pool is just perfect for al fresco dining and the whole of the front if the villa opens up by way of 'sliding' doors which looks fantastic and makes the lounge area light and airy. We felt very secure here throughout our stay. Kids were pleased about the wi- fi of course! lots of books, games and DVDs to make the most of as well. Communication from the owner was first class and we had a couple of visits by the property rental manager to check all was Ok. We would highly recommend Casa Ella - simply perfect!
We have just arrived back after a wonderful 10 days (myself, husband and our 3 year old son) The villa is everything you would need and a little bit more.
We have stayed in many villas before and found Casa Ella very unique and in private settings. The pool was great for our son as it had the roman steps and a large shallow end with the same again deep for ourselves( also lots of pool inflatables), it was lovely and warm as it is in the sun for most of the day (it was also very clean and well kept) So many places to relax/ eat inside and out.
The collection of Cds, DvDs, books and Tv chanels were superb!
We did not hire a car it was about 50 mins in a taxi from the airport which was130 euros going to the villa and 90 euros back (sundays are more) Luz from the villa was about a 10 min walk down hill ( back up 15/20mins pushing a buggie) We regularly walked down at night but got a taxi back for less than 4 euros (lazy we know but we were on holiday) You must try Atlantico resurant we found it on our last night and it was the best meal we had with great service (just behide the church)
We went to Lagos a couple of times, is only 10 mins away in a taxi (13 euros) There is also a bus. Lagos is a busier town with street entertainers lots of bars, resurants and shops. The service/ information we recived and quality was second to none from Jayne and her team there. We would recomend to our friends and family to visit Casa Ella. Thank you Jayne for sharing your wonderful Villa with us.

my husband and i had the honeymoon of our dreams in this lovely villa the photos do not do it justice. the villa itself is so big, clean and bright and you can tell it is well loved. there is so much put into making you feel welcome and comfortable right down to the little touches of dvd's and board games for those nights in. jane (the owner) was extremely helpful before and during our stay providing us with lots of information about the villa and surroundings. jane has put car recommended but if you are happy not to venture too far you have so much on your door step to enjoy as did my husband and i. we loved having the pool to ourselves which is also a fair size. the beds were very comfortable it has made us realise we need a new matress!! we loved spending time in the garden surrounded by the lemon and lime trees not to mention the beautiful plants like the bird of paradise. in the mornings we enjoyed sitting on the balcony with coffee watching the birds nesting and looking out to sea we really felt spoilt with so much to see. the villa has a great security system and you are made to feel really safe. jane also provided so much information in the villa for surrounding attractions with photos and a useful guide to the local restaurants. if you love a good coffee we suggest the kiwi pastelaria along the sea front and for the best homemade icecream go to the ice cream factory opposite the church i always made sure i saved room for one. as for the restaurants alot of them catered to all tastes we wanted to try real portugese food and found o antonios, a small restaurant just up from the beach which was delightful i had the fish which was cooked to perfection as was my husbands pork shanks and the price was great too. all in all we would recommend this holiday to anyone dont be put off for not knowing the language either as there is a part in every menu written in english and everyone we came across was so friendly and welcoming but not over bearing either and as for the villa well we will be recommending it to friends in the future and anyone else who wants the chance to stay somewhere so beautiful and well looked after. thankyou again jane for the rental and allowing us to have a most rememberable honeymoon!!!
This was our second visit to the villa, we only stayed 4 nights but wish it had been longer. The villa is in a residencial area only a short walk into the centre of Luz. It is spacious, clean and very well equiped.
The pool area is large with 6 sun loungers and lots of space the perfect spot to lay in the sun and cool off. The pool area is in the sun most of the day.
Luz is a very relaxing place to stay lots of good places to eat and drink.
The service from the owner was excellent and very prompt and on arrival at the villa there is lots of area information.
We would recommend this villa and will visit again.
We were delighted with the villa for our week this year. It was cool and spacious, the furnishings beautiful and with lots of different spaces for us to lose ourselves for an hour or two for a snooze in the sun, or a shady corner. We found ourselves negotiating for time on the amazing day bed in the master bedroom - a the perfect place to read a book in the afternoon - and a doze.
Homely touches like endless DVDs and books, well stocked kitchen, candles, boardgames and lots of pool inflatables were really welcome.
Luz is an excellent village - small enough to keep the hoards away, yet big enough to give a large supermarket (by Algarve standards!) and plenty of restaurants. Our favourite place is The Dolphin - South African owners producing incredible food.
We used the summer kitchen big BBQ at least 3 times, having got the hang of it - perfect for al fresco dining.
Jane - we hope you don't mind that George "christened" your gate door stop - he's called "Rocky"!
Highly recommended for a lovely holiday in The Algarve. Thanks Jane for all your help and making the booking process simple and thorough.
We stayed in this villa for 5 days last week and it was so nice. The pool, bbq area and bedrooms were fantastic. 6 of us stayed here and it was very pleasant. I will definitley return. Thanks.
The local villages of Luz and Burgau still retain some of their traditional charm with cobbled streets, shops, bars and restaurants and offer something for all the family - swimming, walking, water sports, fishing, wind surfing, cycling. The town of Lagos is just a 10 min drive away and offers a beautiful modern marina, markets and restaurants and, there are many local golf courses (including Boavista Golf) within easy reach as well as water parks, horse riding, walking and a local zoo.
