About the property

Double and a twin bedroom in a stylish flat set in peaceful surroundings

This is a newly renovated flat in a listed building built in 1903, set in the peaceful village of Walkerburn with a private garden and hot tub that you will have use of during your stay. The rooms have 12' high ceilings and a wood burning stove in the lounge. The furniture is hardwood and the artwork is all original.

For mountain bikers and golfers there is an Asgard secure storage shed in the garden as well as a wash down area with hose.

The house has been completely refitted and redecorated at the end of 2016 with a new kitchen which includes a washer/dryer, fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave. There is Gas central heating with on demand hot water.

The lounge has a wood burning stove with wood provided and a 42" TV with surround sound, Netflix and a Blu-ray player with a selection of films and shows. There is also a Chromecast if you want to stream anything yourself.

There is an Asgard secure bike store in the garden with space for 4 bikes, golf clubs or other equipment. Also outside is a raised decking area with a sofa area, built-in lighting on a timer and festoons. There is a hot tub big enough for 6 with bluetooth speakers and 84 jets. The wall has a spray mural done by a local artist.

Towels and dressing gowns are provided.

You'll have full access to the flat as well as private use of the garden and hot tub as well as the secure Asgard bike shed in the garden. The garden is the only access for both flats though, so we may have to pass through occasionally.I live in the flat next door so am available if needed and can answer any questions. I'm happy to have as much or as little interaction as you'd like.

Based in Walkerburn the flat is right next to the excellent mountain bike trails of Innerleithen. The river Tweed runs in front of the house and the local area has excellent Trout and Salmon fishing. The village itself has a small post office, a cafe and a couple of pubs. It's only 20 minutes drive to Galashiels or Peebles and one hour north to Edinburgh. The bus stop is only a 2 minute walk and the 62 bus runs every half hour heading to Edinburgh, Peebles, Innerleithen and Galashiels. Taxis are available but require booking.

Just to note the flat is above the local members bar. There isn't much noise though and they welcome visitors so feel free go down for a drink.

About The Owner

Hi I'm James and I live with my younger brother. I moved back to the Borders to help run my family business 6 years ago. We make unique retirement gifts for the military as well as bespoke crystal and bottle engraving. When not in the office I can be found in the hills on my bike or visiting friends around the country.

The Owner purchased this guest house in 2016

Why The Owner chose Walkerburn

The flat I'm letting is a separate self contained part of my house that I bought and renovated myself at the end of 2016. The garden was also completely rebuilt (by people more skilled than me!) and the hot tub installed to create a small oasis for the perfect break. Living in a rural area it is nice to have the extra space for people to visit and I like welcoming visitors to this lovely area.
