The bird feeders attract an extraordinary variety and number of garden birds including gold finches. The well equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge/freezer microwave and washing machine. Also on the ground floor is a large double bedroom with a wall mounted TV and small en/suite shower and toilet. Upstairs are 3 sunny bedrooms, a double (own TV) and two singles and a bathroom with bath (overhead shower) and toilet.
Outside is a large well maintained garden with seating, a small pond and mature trees. There is undercover parking on the property. Also on the property is an attractive stone built workshop and caravan both of which are locked and not in use.
To the front of the house Barons Court leads to the High Street where you will find a variety of small local shops, a late night supermarket and a selection of take away food outlets. The local railway station provides direct links to Glasgow, Dumfries and Carlisle.
Sanquhar has a swimming pool with sauna/steam room and gym. On the outskirts of town is a picturesque golf course and you can fish for salmon on the river Nith (with an appropriate permit). Rolling hills surround the town with local walks (including waterfalls) on the Euchan and Crawick rivers.
The Southern Upland Way passes through Sanquhar with Wanlockhead (highest village in Scotland) approximately 7 miles away. It is a stunning walk and you will find the Lead Mining Museum and gold panning of interest there. On the outskirts of the town is a land art project Crawick Multiverse "A cosmic landscape worthy of the ancients". Further afield (10 miles) is Drumlanrig Castle surrounded by scenic woodlands with bike and rambler trails.
