43 Acres, 77 Windows To Witness The Breathtaking Views, Gunite Pool And Hot Tub
About Mary Beth
We built this home in the beautiful Shendandoah Valley to raise our children. We designed it so that all of our family and friends could come and visit any time and stay with us. The home is so inviting and special to us and we hope you enjoy it as well.
Why Mary Beth chose Elkton
The second we drove up to this piece of property we were blown away by the views and the peacefulness that surrounds the area! It's a great place for a family reunion. Anyone who visits or stays can't wait to come back. We have been told it's like a slice of heaven, a retreat, a place you never want to leave.
What makes this House unique
We fell in love with this piece of property the second we stepped foot on it. It's such a peaceful, private place to take in the beautiful scenery and spend time with your family & friends. The spacious living areas give you space to gather all together or find a quiet room to read a book and relax. The outdoors come to life here while walking down the country road behind our home along the Shenandoah River or the country road in front of our home viewing the mountains and pastures. You can relax by the pool and hot tub or sit out on one of our 5 porches/decks. Wherever you sit or look there is an abundance of beauty. We love to watch the moon come over the mountains or the sun set behind them. Every day is a different picture to see - the foliage in the fall, the clouds against the mountains, the stars like you've never seen them before but best of all the laughter and joy when family and friends are gathered!

We had a wonderful family trip (6 adults, 6 kids) to Elkton over July 4th week. We spent so much time in the pool taking in the gorgeous surroundings and loved all the activities in the area — lavender farm, Massanutten, kayaking and fly fishing. Communication with the owners was easy and helpful and the amenities were all we needed for a wonderful trip. Would definitely go back again!
Perfet location for our family
If you want to "get away" and relax, this is the place for you! We brought our two daughters, two sons-in-law, and 3 grandchildren under the age of 2 and had a great time. The rooms are large, high ceilings and lots of space so you can "be together" but not feel like you are on top of each other. The grandchildren loved the horses and cows that come right up to fence around the property. The pool and hot tub area are great.
So much better than expected
we couldn't have been happier with how this place turned out. The house was clean and in great condition. The appliances were perfect for a large group getting together and cooking. The pool was the perfect relaxation point and getaway, but most importantly the view was breathtaking. Mary Beth and Debbie were super easy to work with on check-in and check-out and anything we needed in between. We will definitely be back here in the future!
Gorgeous setting and views
We stayed here with a group of 9 family members, plus a couple extra who came for one weekend of the trip. The home matched the description well. We were able to spread out comfortably in the house. One thing we appreciated was how bright and well equipped the kitchen was. Often in rental homes, it's a struggle to truly cook for a large group. We ate out a lot, but were also able to eat many meals and store and reheat groceries and leftovers extensively. There are two ovens, which was a big help. Also, the dining area of the kitchen has windows on three sides, affording incredible views of the rolling farmland and mountains in the distance. You'd be washing dishes and looking at this postcard-perfect view with horses in the meadow and hazy mountains. It added so much to the trip.
We did some type of excursion every day in the area, up to about an hour away. Monticello, Shenandoah Park, Skyline Drive, Blue Ridge Parkway... Lots of hiking and exploring. The house's location was remote, but also centrally located to a lot of different things and very convenient to the Shenandoah regional airport (about 25 minutes away) which we flew to direct from Chicago.
We found communication with the neighbor who helped manage the property very easy and direct. No complaints, and we'd be happy to book again in the future!
Lovely house in a lovely setting, nice and helpful owner & caretaker
Rented the house for a small college reunion among five guys, 45 years after our undergraduate years together. Great setting for casual time together! Well equipped kitchen, nice common spaces (both inside and out), excellent laundry facilities, TV, pool, terrific views overlooking the hills and surrounding farms, near Shenandoah National Park with tons of hiking trails. Lots of history and other "attractions" in the broader area. There are more bedrooms than bathrooms, so sharing is a must, and some of the bedrooms are more elegant and comfortable than others--but depending on the size and flexibility of your group, it's very accomodating. Owner and caretaker both very nice and helpful. We wouldn't hesitate to return for a similar event in the future.
Everything we wanted in a vacation!
