About Mrs Cyntra Hinde

Marcus and Cyntra Hinde. We have lived here for 8 years. We have two children at university, two cocker spaniels and an array of sheep and chickens.

Mrs Cyntra Hinde purchased this cottage in 2007

Why Mrs Cyntra Hinde chose York

We love the privacy and feeling of space we get around here and, whilst being rural, we are right on the edge of the village with the village pub a short stroll away and easy access into York by bus or car.

We developed the barn in 2016 and it is located behind the main farm house. It is not overlooked in any way and looks over two paddocks. The 7 acre wood was planted 15 years ago and is a great place to stroll in the morning or evening. You may even see one of the three deer, badgers and owls that seem to like staying at night.

What makes this cottage unique

The luxury of a new barn conversion in a rural setting, with the benefits of loads of space to view the wildlife and the birds. There is a calmness about the barn without feeling totally cut off.

Amazing beautiful place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Had the best weekend celebrating my mums 70th. Everything in the barn was luxury and little touches like toiletries and a beautiful home made cake just top off the special attention to detail that Cyntra and Marcus have put into this beautiful holiday home. Nothing was too much trouble and the lift to and from the restaurant was very helpful. Zara loved playing with Molly and Ziwa and can’t wait to come back and visit as are we all.

Thanks so much Cyntra and Marcus for making this such a special weekend for all our family.

Luxury Accommodation in well located site.

  • 5 of 5

We chose this accommodation for an adult family get together celebrating a 30th birthday. Our non car travellers were from London, Leeds and Manchester so with York railway station only 9 miles away this was ideal. Indeed there is plenty to visit in York and plenty of country walks within 20 miles of Sutton which is very close to the North York Moors and all its attractions. The renovated barn conversion accommodation itself exceeded our expectations with comfortable beds and excellent bathroom facilities. One twin en suite bedroom is downstairs and would suit anyone struggling with stairs. There is an open plan kitchen and living room facility opening on to an outdoor patio with good garden furniture for 7 which we used each day in the hot weekend weather. We had no complaints whatsoever and our hosts Cyntra and Marcus were helpful, friendly, and non obtrusive though they lived in a separate property next door. There are two well stocked small village shops with post office facilities within 2 miles of Sutton which also function as newsagents. We did not sample the nearby country pubs/restaurants but they looked good from outside. We brought our own food supplies with us. We would highly recommend this property without reservation and would certainly return under similar circumstances.

Property was light, spacious and very comfortable. Greatly appreciated the kindness, hospitality and attention to detail afforded us. Close to York yet far enough away to enjoy a quiet yet thriving village environment. Lots to see and do.

Amazing property and hosts - thank you!

  • 5 of 5

The owners have thought of everything. This is a beautiful property where you are made to feel very welcome. Also the barn is so well positioned you can’t fail to enjoy your stay. Even the village pub exceeded our expectations. We have never left a property before with nobody being able to fault anything.
