About Liam & Fiona Travers
I come from a family background in the hospitality industry. I grew up in Kildare which is about 45 minutes from Dublin and worked for many years in my parent's hotel there. I emigrated to New York for a number of years and when I returned in 1990 I purchased this property in Dublin City. As I am a qualified builder and carpenter I undertook to restore this house over a number of years and restore it to some of its former glory. As you can see from the pictures there are a lot of original features which I managed to retain and I am pleased that I can finally share them with people from all over the world. I am now living in Kildare again and am married with a daughter. As my parents before me I am committed to providing all of my guests with a wonderful holiday experience in a beautiful period house. I am available at all times for my guest either by phone or email and am happy to answer any query.
Liam & Fiona Travers purchased this Apartment in 1990
Why Liam & Fiona Travers chose Phoenix Park
I chose this location for the proximity to the city centre and of course the beautiful Victorian Redbrick lined North Circular Road. These properties are a feature of Dublin and are preserved by Dublin Council. The fact that the Phoenix Park and the Botanic gardens are within walking distances is an absolute plus, providing plenty of recreational activity. The Phoenix park is a wonderful asset just a few minutes walk away. So whether guests want to go for a jog or a walk or visit the Zoo this is the perfect place to do it. A wonderful place to unwind and relax and one of my favourite places to visit. Bike hire is available here also. Numerous pubs, restaurants are within walking distance and I feel that the house provides a sense of character and charm not matched by modern buildings and houses. Local coffee shops, restaurants and bars are all located within 10 minutes walk and are a wonderful way of sampling Dublin life all within easy reach. It's a mainly residential area and has every facility necessary to provide guests with a comfortable stay. There is a supermarket located just 3 minutes walk away that is open late and there is an excellent bus service right outside the front door which will transport guests to the city centre within 10 minutes.
What makes this Apartment unique
There are a number of benefits to staying in this property. Located close to the heart of the city of Dublin there is an excellent transport system by bus and light rail that means all of the sights can be visited with the minimum of fuss. The building itself is a beautiful Victorian property that has unique charm while offering all the modern comforts that a guest could expect. The location is ideal as it is quiet and peaceful while being convenient to all shopping, sights, transport, museums etc. that makes a holiday enjoyable. Located beside the Phoenix park which is Europe's largest urban park the traveller can have a taste of the country while still remaining in the city. There truly is something for everyone.

10 year anniversary
Great place. Just as advertised. Clean well kept and in walking distance to everything.
2 rolls of toilet paper and no toiletries are not customer friendly
We emailed you 2 days after check in to ensure that everything was to your satisfaction.
We are surprised that you found us "not customer friendly" as we didn't hear a word from you in response to this so we assumed that everything was ok.
I must admit if we had heard from you we would most definitely have dropped in more toilet roll if it was an issue for you but we were never given the opportunity.
All of our apartments are self catering so we are not obliged to supply more than what is needed to get you started. That is the idea of self catering..... you take care of these things yourself. We are not a hotel so toiletries are not supplied and must be brought or purchased. Most people prefer to bring their own nowadays anyway.
Maybe you should bear this in mind for your next self catering holiday and give the hosts an opportunity to help out if necessary.
I notice that you gave us 4 stars out of 5 so I hope you found some good points during your stay that you omitted from your review.
Loved our stay in the flat in Dublin
Checkin was smooth and the owners were incredibly responsive (considering they were out of town themselves) I am so impressed. The fold out couch was more comfortable than my husband expected (he was too tall for the bed with the footboard and the way he sleeps but he is 6'1")
We walked all over Dublin from here and were extremely happy.
Thanks Danielle for your wonderful review.
We hope next time that we get to meet you and your husband.
Until then take care.

Apart from WiFi being a little patchy and have not having details of how to access the apartment when we arrived, which was quickly resolved. The apartment was fine.

We enjoyed our time in Dublin. The apartment location is very convenient. Close to town and to the main attractions in the city. It is a small apartment but equipped with everything we needed. Free parking in front of the apartment is a plus since parking spaces around are very expensive.
The communication with the owner was smooth and check in instructions very easy to follow. The welcome email was very informative.
Thank you for your kind review.
We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us.
Hope to see you back at Glencourt apartments sometime in the future.

The apartment space was quaint and met all of our needs. The space was small, but perfect for my mom and I. We loved the vintage building. The best thing about the charming space was its location to the bus, and many walkable activities. The owners gave us wonderful information to get us started for a perfect holiday. They were very helpful. Fiona provided a ride from the airport which was extremely helpful as well. Garry our driver was prompt, courteous, and answered all of our questions. I cant wait to go back.
Thank you for your wonderful review.
We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you loved the location and the building.
Anytime you are back this way please don't hesitate to contact us and we would love to host you again.

I'm always available by phone or email and am happy to assist guests in any way I can.
This street is mainly residential, beautifully tree lined and runs right up the the entrance of the Phoenix Park.
This park is the largest urban park in Europe and houses Dublin Zoo and the presidential home and offices as well as a children's playground. It is a wonderful park to visit and spans over 1750 acres.
The street also has beautiful Victorian red bricked houses all along it which date back to the 18th century so it really is a taste of old Dublin.
There is a major supermarket just 3 minutes walk as well as a pharmacy, bakery, coffee shops, bars, restuarants and many other amenities all within easy walking distance.
