About Liam & Fiona Travers
I come from a family background in the hospitality industry. I grew up in Kildare which is about 45 minutes from Dublin and worked for many years in my parent's hotel there. I emigrated to New York for a number of years and when I returned in 1990 I purchased this property in Dublin City. As I am a qualified builder and carpenter I undertook to restore this house over a number of years and restore it to some of its former glory. As you can see from the pictures there are a lot of original features which I managed to retain and I am pleased that I can finally share them with people from all over the world. I am now living in Kildare again and am married with a daughter. As my parents before me I am committed to providing all of my guests with a wonderful holiday experience in a beautiful period house. I am available at all times for my guest either by phone or email and am happy to answer any query.

Why Liam & Fiona Travers chose Phoenix Park
I chose this location for the proximity to the city centre and of course the beautiful Victorian Redbrick lined North Circular Road. These properties are a feature of Dublin and are preserved by Dublin Council. The fact that the Phoenix Park and the Botanic gardens are within walking distances is an absolute plus, providing plenty of recreational activity. The Phoenix park is a wonderful asset just a few minutes walk away. So whether guests want to go for a jog or a walk or visit the Zoo this is the perfect place to do it. A wonderful place to unwind and relax and one of my favourite places to visit. Bike hire is available here also. Numerous pubs, restaurants are within walking distance and I feel that the house provides a sense of character and charm not matched by modern buildings and houses. Local coffee shops, restaurants and bars are all located within 10 minutes walk and are a wonderful way of sampling Dublin life all within easy reach. It's a mainly residential area and has every facility necessary to provide guests with a comfortable stay. There is a supermarket located just 3 minutes walk away that is open late and there is an excellent bus service right outside the front door which will transport guests to the city centre within 10 minutes.
What makes this Apartment unique
There are a number of benefits to staying in this property. Located close to the heart of the city of Dublin there is an excellent transport system by bus and light rail that means all of the sights can be visited with the minimum of fuss. The building itself is a beautiful Victorian property that has unique charm while offering all the modern comforts that a guest could expect. The location is ideal as it is quiet and peaceful while being convenient to all shopping, sights, transport, museums etc. that makes a holiday enjoyable. Located beside the Phoenix park which is Europe's largest urban park the traveller can have a taste of the country while still remaining in the city. There truly is something for everyone.

Nice place and close to bus stop
When we arrived in Dublin, we took a cab to our residence which was organized by Liam and also our return to the airport, 35 euros each way. I must admit, I was surprised it was a murphy bed but it was comfortable. When we found the instruction booklet it mentioned what buses to take to get to the city center and other attractions. By bus it's approximately 10 minutes. We had all the amenities we needed and the location was near the bus route. which meant a 1 minute walk home.. This place was adequate for what we wanted- breakfast in and lunches for the day touring. A grocery store with 5 minutes was helpful. Liam and Fiona were helpful with anything we asked..
5 Day stay in Dublin
The location was great we were able to walk or take transit. Grocery stores close by were very convenient.
I think the listing should indicate that it is at the top of the house ie: 4 flights of stairs also that is a Murphy bed which impacts amount of space for your belongings and virtually no closet space .
Overall we enjoyed the location away from the city center.
4 day stay in Dublin
Unfortunately, the cleaner did not show to clean property but once Liam and Fiona were advised, they remedied the situation quickly.
The apartment is perfect for a short stay (3 days max). Very close to city centre.
There are 4 flights of stairs to climb to the apartment.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review.
Again my apologies for the mix up with the cleaning schedule.
I'm so pleased that it didnt' overshadow your stay with us and that you enjoyed our apartment and your time in Dublin.
Hope to see you back at Glencourt soon again.
All the best.

Just what we needed
This was a great location from which to base the Dublin portion of our Ireland trip. We like to walk at a pretty brisk pace, so for us downtown (Temple Bar area) was about a 20 minute walk. The apartment was clean, bed was comfy enough, and the bagels and fruit left for us was a nice touch. The Oscar Wilde room was up a 3 or 4 flights of stairs - it wasn't an issue for us, but some may want to know that. Parking was easy enough right on the street in front of the flat. We didn't use the microwave or stove, but it was good to know they were options. All in all, it was great. Thanks Liam and Fiona!
Hi Josh and thank you for taking the time to write this great review.
Hope to see you back at Glencourt in the very near future.
Cute Studio is 50 minute walk from Center
The apartment had everything we needed as a home base. My husband and I prefer to walk over taking buses so it ended up feeling pretty far from the center of Dublin at the end of a long day. This was clearly written in the description and other reviews so was totally my fault in selecting an apartment so far away. We did like the neighborhood and convenient grocery store though the walk from Dublin at night often took us down some dark streets. We did like feeling we were in a quiet, authentic neighborhood at the end of the day. Liam and Fiona were great hosts and we would recommend the apartment to those who are looking for an affordable place to stay in Dublin. Also, I would mention that we signed up for a bus tour at a tourist office to the Cliffs of Moher and Galway. It was the best day we had in Ireland. Great vistas, and a fun tour guide that informed us about the history, culture and language of Ireland. Look out for the tours that make you eat at a specific restaurant. The tour we did remained at the cliffs for 2 hours and we used every minute. In the end, we loved our time in Ireland and we will be back!
Thank you for taking the time to write this wonderful review.
We really appreciate it.
Just to point out that there is an excellent public transport system right outside the front door which will take you directly to the city centre in 10 minutes so all the sights are really within easy reach.
Hope to see you soon again.

Will definitely return to Glencourt Apts
We quite enjoyed our stay here. We found the apartment (Oscar Wilde) just as described. It is small but not uncomfortably so at all. Very good for one or two people. We MUCH enjoyed the neighborhood. Its proximity to grocery stores, very good restaurants (check out the Stoneybatter area), bus stops, Phoenix Park make it very convenient, but we also really liked the neighborhood vibe. NOT a tourist area, thankfully. We like to walk so we walked from the apartment though Stoneybatter into the city every day, only occasionally using the bus (but, as noted, bus stops and routes are very convenient to Glencourt). There is no question that it is a matter of when, not if, we will return to Dublin, and there is no question that when we do we will book at Glencourt again.
Thank you so much for the wonderful review.
We agree that it's a great place to stay and has a fantastic location.
Stoneybatter is a great place to spend an evening and we would love to welcome you back to Glencourt anytime.
Best wishes to your wife and hope to see you soon.

This street is mainly residential, beautifully tree lined and runs right up the the entrance of the Phoenix Park.
This park is the largest urban park in Europe and houses Dublin Zoo and the presidential home and offices as well as a children's playground. It is a wonderful park to visit and spans over 1750 acres.
The street also has beautiful Victorian red bricked houses all along it which date back to the 18th century so it really is a taste of old Dublin.
There is a major supermarket just 3 minutes walk as well as a pharmacy, bakery, coffee shops, bars, restuarants and many other amenities all within easy walking distance.
