Classic cobbled street in Edinburgh's laid back West End

The apartment is beautifully decorated and is packed full of Scottish fabrics, original Scottish paintings and drawings, warm colours and heaps of personality. It's a great base from which to explore Edinburgh on foot, and once you're worn out from a great day of shopping or sightseeing there's a fab kitchen in the apartment and a wood burning stove for a cosy night in. For the more energetic just dump the shopping bags, get the 'glad rags' on and walk a few hundred yards to some of the best bars and restaurants that Edinburgh has to offer. After a few nights here you're almost guaranteed to feel Scottish and you certainly won't want to leave!

You enter the traditional 'shared stair' at pavement level and make your way up the original, stone steps to the apartment door on the 2nd floor (the top). There are two bedrooms; one very large and one large. Both rooms can be set up either as twin beds or double beds (Super King size and King size). The beds are naturally 'Luxury Hotel' standard. The master bedroom has a lovely dressing table with an illuminated magnifying mirror for the ladies.

There is a very well equipped large dining kitchen with oven, hob, microwave and everything you need to cook up a feast! It also includes a dishwasher, washing machine and digital radio.

The Lounge is beautifully decorated and features a wood burning stove and original fireplace. There is wifi, digital cable TV and a Bluetooth speaker for your entertainment and the side board is crammed full of fun board games for a lively night in! There is also a sofa bed available in the lounge for larger groups.

The bathroom is a warm and welcoming room with its large tub, big traditional shower head, stone tiles, warm colours and the all important under floor heating!

About Andy Murray

I've been involved with property in Edinburgh for 12 years and have always loved Georgian and Victorian architecture with all it's grandeur! I have renovated and upgraded many original Edinburgh properties but the 'Snug' is my first Holiday Apartment and I absolutely love it. I live a short walk down the hill from the apartment in an old townhouse in Stockbridge with my wife Rebecca and our 2 little boys. If I ever need a quiet sit down I sneak off to the Snug and hide!! My father in law is a famous Irish poet (Michael Longley) and my sister in law is a well known Scottish/Irish painter and most of the books are Michael's collections and the art on the walls are Sarah Longley originals or sketch work from her bigger collections. Also, if you'd like a kilt made whilst you're here - my brother in law is a kilt maker!!

Why Andy Murray chose Edinburgh

The West End of Edinburgh is a hidden gem of a place, full of boutique shops, delis, coffee shops, proper pubs and restaurants and it just so happens to be less than 5 minutes walk from Princes' Street. It's such a great location that as soon as I saw the apartment I knew it had to be shared! Doing interiors is one of my passions and I was able to cut loose on the William Street Snug with Georgian colour schemes and gorgeous Scottish tartans and tweed textiles and original Georgian walls are ideal for hanging great art!

Well appointed rental in Edinburgh west end

Great unit, conveniently located and near plenty of pubs, shops, and food stores. Our only issue was the difficulty in reaching the property manager, who was away. Once we made contact at his office by phone, communications got better.

Great Place to Stay in Edinburgh

My wife, her sister, and I stayed in Andy's apartment and had a wonderful time. Andy's a very gracious host: when we arrived we found a loaf of fresh bread, fruit, and other foods waiting for us. The home is beautifully furnished, clean, and quiet. The location was very good: about 3 blocks to the Hop-On Hop-Off bus stops. Only a block to Starbucks and many other coffee shops and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful home, great location

Andy's apartment is very cozy and worked well for 2 couples and a third person. It is clean, stylish and in a great location to go all around New Town and tho the Old Town of Edinburgh. His restaurant recommendations were spot on, providing us with a surprising and wonderful experience of food in Scotland.

Beautiful, central and reasonably priced

Had a great stay in this fabulous property. It is beautifully finished to a high standard with everything we needed and very clean.

The location was pretty central at the west end of Edinburgh with lots of nice bars, shops, restaurants etc all close by.

Very hassle free rental, picked up the keys at the door and left them there when we left.

Would use this apartment again and would definitely recommend.

Smug about our choice of Snug

We had a great time exploring Edinburgh. Our stay was made even more enjoyable by having a warm a comfortable snug to come home to. The snug is aptly decorated, clean, well kept and centrally located. We walked everywhere and were given nice restaurant suggestions. The owner was prompt in response and we had no problems. We really enjoyed being in Scotland.

Very happy with the location and the amenities

This charming apartment was a welcome sight upon our arrival in Scotland. It was very comfortable and in a good neighborhood. The apartment was clean and modern and in the kitchen, there was fresh milk, bread and butter for our breakfast, as we arrived rather late in the day. The owner quickly answered any questions we had by text. There is some evening noise from the pubs downstairs but it ended early enough that it did not interfere with our sleep. Check in/out was quite easy and I would definitely recommend this rental.
