Dear Sabrina, We are finally home and I didn’t want to delay in writing to tell you what an extraordinary time we had at the Villa Tere week of June 5th -June12th 2010. Christina, Gino and Francesca treated us like family and made us feel so welcome and at home. The villa is every bit as beautiful as the pictures and we spent every evening under the pergola enjoying Christina’s fabulous food. I would recommend to your guests having at least two or 3 meals prepared by Christina. Her gnocchi, risotto, and tira misu are fabulous. she also makes a wicked good apple cake. She was incredibly thoughtful and even supplied gluten free pasta for one of our guests. The house is perfectly situated for taking day trips around Tuscany and it was great to come home to the comfort and beauty of the pool at the end of a long day of touring. The olive oil produced on the estate is fabulous and everybody purchased several bottles and cans to take home. I would recommend this property to any large group looking for an elegant Tuscan holiday. Best regards,
We spent a spectacular week at Villa Theresa. Our children suggested we rent a villa in Tuscany to celebrate both my and my husband’s 75th birthdays. We were 20 people – 9 adults and 11 children, ranging in age from 5 to 17.
As soon as we pulled up in our cars, we knew we made the right decision. It looked just even better than the pictures on the internet!
The house is spacious, updated and completely charming. Every bedroom had an updated bathroom. Everyone was completely satisfied with the individual rooms.
The first evening, we asked the owners to make dinner for us. The dinner was prepared at the villa. They have a very extensive menu, complete with local wine, that more than satisfied all of us. We knew after our first night that we would be having several more dinners outside under the arbor by the house. The dinners were both bountiful and wonderful as was the ambiance.
The kitchen has a large refrigerator, freezer and dishwasher and we were able to make breakfast each day. On the days we were not sightseeing, we had lunch down by the pool, under an arbor. The views were spectacular with olive orchards surrounding the property. There is also an abundance of wineries in the area, where we enjoyed wine tasting.
The pool is extremely large and the children (of all ages) enjoyed it. There is also an infinity pool.
The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. They made us feel like family.
Our memorable week at Villa Teresa is something that each of us will cherish for the rest of our lives.
Thanks Sabrina for the large contribute to our vacation.
The location is perfect, Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, and Cortona can be reached in less than an hour and Rome, Perugia, Pisa and Bologna in about two hours
The Villa, which is a very short walk to the town, is beautifully set among olive and fig trees and the views are spectacular. It is fully restored and has all the modern features you would want, yet it maintained the charm that we expect it had when it was first built in the 19th century to house a wealthy Florentine family while they spent their weekends outside of Florence.
The Villa is extremely well equipped and has a high end kitchen with professional appliances, Wifi , newly renovated modern bathrooms and bedrooms that are all large, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. There is the added plus of a swimming pool, which was enjoyed by all. the owner is a wonderful cook and the meals she made for us were the best we experienced in Italy. We cannot say enough about the great hospitality we were given by the owners and they made us feel like we were part of their family.
We had the privilege of staying in this property in October of this last year with seven other couples and absolutely fell in love with the place. Quite honestly, the beautiful pictures themselves don't even do justice to property. It's location is prefect for exploring the Tuscan countryside, assuming you have a vehicle (I would not recommend it without a vehicle).
The rooms were very comfortable - all with bathrooms en suite which was exactly what we required. The place was very clean and well-kept and the grounds were idyllic. The pool area especially could have merited its own postcard. I almost had tears in my eyes the first evening I wandered down to the pool and saw a gorgeous Tuscan sunset on the hillsides to the tune of the church bells ringing on the hill just opposite the property.
The owner recommended great places to eat and we had a professional-grade kitchen that fit all of our in-house dining needs. Quite honestly, we could not have found a better spot and plan on going back next time we travel with a large group.
I meant to write to you after our return but things have been incredibly hectic. We spent a week at the magical Villa in Tuscany. It was to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday and we were joined by family members who came from all over. The house ultimately housed all 22 of us very comfortably, including two rather elderly grandmothers!
Our stay at the Villa was everything we had hoped for. The Villa was everything it promised to be. It is quite magnificent and worked extremely well for so many of us. At the same time, we all had our own private suites and so were able to relax in some privacy too.
The host Christina made a superb supper for all of us on our first evening there and for the rest we enjoyed making our purchases at the little local supermarket and cooking for ourselves.
The Villa is also very conveniently situated so that we could make some day visits to Florence and Sienna as well as some other smaller towns and cities.
Christina's daughter also very kindly took our teenagers out one evening to a local establishment and they really enjoyed their evening.
The house is beautifully furnished and the bathrooms are superb. The children enjoyed the swimming pool even though it was not terribly warm yet.
It was a very memorable holiday and I have to thank you for the Villa which was everything that you said it would be.
We also had a very authentic experience on Easter Sunday when we attended the local church for Easter Sunday mass - this was definitely one of the highlights!
Thank You and best wishes
Perfect villa for lg. group, we were 13 adults & 7 kids, ages 81-11. There's an elevator for the elderly and 2 staircases. Lg. dining table, great kitchen with commercial dishwasher that does dishes in 4 minutes. Lg. outdoor table/chairs under the covered arbor, beautiful swimming pool and gardens. Great views from the rooftop terrace of the olive groves and village of Cavriglia. The 12 bedrooms were comfortable with views from every window. Plenty of bathrooms, no waiting and no problem with hot water. Great spaces to be together or alone. There is Wi-Fi and a few husbands managed to do work on their laptops. We never needed the air conditioning, all the rooms have lg. windows and cross ventilation. The foyers on every floor have automatic light sensors and the outside also has lights that come on at night, was great not having to look for switches. The villa was better than described and everything we needed was provided. The owners are a wonderful family and made our stay a great experience. We asked them to prepare 4 dinners for us, they were delicious, ate at Piccolo's in the village a few times, & Notorius Cafe for gelato.
There's a train station in Montevarchi, about 8 miles, took 35 min. to Florence by train. A small Coop in in the village but a lg. Coop is in Montevarchi, they take Visa. We did day trips to Lucca, Pisa, Viariaggio, Sienna, Radda, Gaiole and Castellina and Florence.
We loved hearing the church bells, a few times a week a band would play in the village was fun hearing Beatles songs in Italian, even became accustomed to the rooster and peacocks from monastary on hillltop. If you're a very light sleeper, bring earplugs or leave windows closed. I actually miss hearing the nightly sounds of nature and loved leaving the windows open at night.
We all had a great time, would love to go back and definately recommend this villa. It was a perfect set-up for us as a family but I could also see this for a group of friends. We had no complaints or problems, what could be better. Most of my family had not been to Italy and they all said this was everything they imagined Tuscany would be, a few of the kids said they would love to bring their future kids back to visit.
I'm so glad I found Sabrina, she was a pleasure to work with and I can't say enough about the villa or its owners.
When property details seem so good there is always a risk of disappointment, but quite the reverse was true here. Villa Tere exceeded our expectations! We are six families, who have been holidaying together in England, France & Italy for the past eight years, and this was by far the best property yet.
Do you want a quiet get away in fantastic countryside?
Hill walking? Fine food & wine?
Then this is for you.
Or perhaps you prefer the sun, lazing by the pool?
Then this is for you too.
Do you want to be an easy drive from Sienna, San Gimignano & Arezzo, not too far from Firenze (easily reached by train from nearby Montevarchi) & Pisa? Then yes, this is the perfect place.
A group of friends, a family get-together, a reunion?
Perfect for all of these.
It might look small in the photos, but the Villa is huge, on three floors with plentiful rooms. Big & beautifully furnished bedrooms, most with en-suite bathrooms, & lounges on each floor - not that we needed the lounges much, as we ate and lived outside in the glorious weather. The seventeen of us that holidayed this year had plenty of room to spare. Recently refurbished, with a lift between floors, nicely decorated, clean (maid service three times a week) & with the friendly owners close by but never intrusive, it was more than just a villa.
Outside are well watered lawns, gravel paths and terraces, including a shaded dining area, the whole surrounded by olive trees (the villa is in the middle of a working agrituismo, producing olive oil). Best of all, a fantastic luxury pool is a short walk from the villa, with sun-loungers surrounding it and a shower room located underneath.
The views are indeed fantastic, best of all being the view from the roof terrace. Hills, mountains, olive groves & vineyards.
It is only a short walk from the nearby village, which has several fine restaurants & shops including a co-op. There are bigger shops in Montvarchi.
The downside? It might be tricky to enjoy the area without a car, and there are the local insects... It really is hard to think of any others!
