A delightful walk out apartment with separate entrance and patio, is on the ground level of this Townhouse, located in a quiet community abutting a creek, and offering outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, and nature trail. The bike path along the river that goes to Mount Vernon and DC is within a couple of miles; and it is just minutes to Old Town Alexandria, an easy drive to DC, or a short walk to public transit connecting to the metro.
It features a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, coffee maker, cookware and dishes. The bedroom includes full size bed, chest and desk with a wall of closets and two full windows facing east for morning sun. The living room sofa converts to a queen size bed, so the apartment can handle 4 guest; but is most comfortable for two. There is a big screen flat television on the mantel, and WiFi is available. The patio is just outside the living room doors, with table and chairs for Al fresco dining. The apartment is perfect for temporary housing if new to the area; or for anyone taking a holiday, and wanting a retreat after a busy day touring.
I am a frequent traveler and enjoy staying in more interesting and warmer spaces than can be found in typical hotels. As a result I decided to open the apartment in my home to others travelers who would also appreciate an inviting environment that feels more like a home.

The townhouse is tucked away in a peaceful quiet setting, yet accessible to area attractions by car or metro. A nature trail runs through the community, where one can enjoy views of the creek on a leisurely walk. It is only minutes to Old Town Alexandria' s bustling streets and charming downtown, filled with boutiques and fine restaurants, and an easy 25 minute drive into DC; or one can leave the car at metro and take the train. The National Harbor and it's attractions is a short 15 minute drive away.
The house is just a couple miles from scenic GW Parkway, and the Mount Vernon Trail ; The American Horticulture Society and River Farm, it's horticulture garden is just off the trail, which also goes into DC.
It is only a 10 minute drive to the Woodlawn Plantation and Frank Lloyd Wright's pope-leighey house, or George Washington's Mount Vernon. There are many parks nearby, and a Marina where one can rent sail boats. National Airport is about 15 minutes away.
