Why Debbie chose Torquay City Centre
History: In the 19th Century when the British Navy’s fleet of ships was anchored in the bay, the climate of Torquay was discovered to be as benign as that of the Mediterranean and became fashionable with wealthy vacationers escaping the grime of the cities. From that era, Torquay’s magnificent Victorian villas were dotted throughout its 7 wooded hillsides, many named evocatively after Italian and Mediterranean destinations. This heritage suggested the name ‘Casafico’ or Fig House. One glimpse in to the accommodations’ kitchen garden will explain why! The main house is occupied by the owners. First built itself as a vacationers’ villa, Greythorpe House has many fine and elaborate period features. By 1861 it had become a family home for the first time and up until the 1920’s had an extensive household of staff in service. Around 1871 a billiard room, the fashion of the day, was built on the first floor requiring an extension over the then servant’s hall. This hall now forms the accommodations’ Sitting Room. Casafico has many signs of its interesting past which visitors will be able to discover.
What makes this Villa unique

Everything is accessible..the harbour and ferry, restaurants, cafes and bars, attractions, beaches, coves, coastal path, theatres, views...or by train from local station to further afield - historic towns and city centre, the moors and river estuaries.

This is truly an amazing place to stay for your holidays in Torquay. It’s an exceptionally well presented home from home with splendidly spacious and very comfortable rooms, in such a convenient location.
My family and I were made truly welcome. We had a fantastic stay and we looking forward to returning next year.
Beautiful property great location
A beautiful character property with large rooms and high ceilings. It is a short walk to the harbour, shops and restaurants and yet very quiet for sleeping. There is a lovely courtyard and peaceful sheltered garden for that morning coffee or restorative dtink after a busy day. Would definitely come again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful guest home in Torquay. It is located in a pretty estate neighborhood close to everything. The owner Debbie lives in the main home, and was very accommodating with direction guidance and recommendations. The quest quarters themselves are beautifully restored and quite spacious. There are gorgeous gardens beside the home. We can't wait to stay here again!
We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back soon.
Everything it said in the property details and more.
Elegant, high ceilings, highly appointed, comfy beds, quality linens, lovely private sunny garden. The owners very helpful, but left me pretty much to myself. Would definitely return again. Close to Torquay ten centre yet in a quiet location xx
Thank you for your review. Loved having you stay and hope we can welcome you again soon.
Beautifully presented Villa, all mod cons, short walk to the harbour, private and peaceful.
Perfect base and close to Torquay harbour. Period features throughout, large rooms, mature private garden, separate dining room, off road parking. If you're after something a bit special this is it. Torquay has some great fish restaurants and newer chains such as Iguana, all within a beautiful evening stroll. Recommend Oddicombe beach and the ferry to Brixham. Plenty to do and see, good public transport links, cheap train ride to Exeter to shop on a rainy day. Make sure you pack your trainers/walking shoes, the inclines will get you fit!
Thank you. It was a pleasure to have you and your family stay with us.
Schöne, geräumige, zentral gelegene Stadtwohnung in ruhiger Umgebung
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casafico. The spacious rooms, the lovely garden, the quiet surroundings - all contributed to an entirely relaxing holiday experience.
