We had an awesome time. Our third time to stay here. We will stay again!!
Awesome place to stay!!
Adorable, but in need of some up keep maintenance.
Thank you for the review. Note for future travelers. These are actual cabooses with much of the interior intact. Staying in a caboose is an experience. You will be using the original entry steps and we have left pieces of history for you to view - the radio-phone system, fuse holders, break controls, etc. Modern amenities have been squeezed in, but the cabooses are unique.
Cute, fun for overnight, but cramped and dated.
It's a caboose, so staying in it is somewhere between a houseboat and a camping trailer. It's cute as can be, very atmospheric. The problem is the conversion wasn't very well thought out. The AC unit is right by the bed (literally 2 ft away) and roars constantly. The bathroom is almost too small to turn around in. The kitchen takes up a quarter of the whole space but is still too small to be usable. So if you just want an atmospheric night in the hills and it's cool enough to not have the AC on you'll love it. For a longer stay I'd go somewhere more house-ish.
Thanks for the review. If you want something different than a hotel, this is your place! It's an amazing escape and the layout takes the original features of the caboose into account and features them. Staying at the cabooses is an experience. It amazes me how many people have been coming back for nearly 20 years because the feel of a caboose in the woods is difficult to duplicate.
