It is located in Portland's Brooklyn neighborhood, a neighborhood characterized by its eccentricity, devotion to natural lifestyle, and easy walkability to all that Portland has to offer. At this location, you can easily access Division st and check out such hot foodie spots as Pok Pok, Ava Gene's, Roman Candle and many others! Downtown is a 5 minute car trip across the Ross Island Bridge and most other hot spots are within 10 minutes drive or 30 minutes bike ride, including: Alberta Arts District, Hawthorne st, Northwest District, Mississippi St, Sellwood and many more! This neighborhood is very close to the Willamette river and centrally located! Ride your bikes on the waterfront multi-use path to easily access all of the east side and cross the bridge into downtown. Plus, you can easily take the Max train Orange line or bus to downtown and surrounding neighborhoods.

In addition to the private patio, this unit also comes with access to a full backyard including propane BBQ and lounging area! Laundry on-site in shared space basement.

About Maya

I am a local restaurant owner and love all that Portland has to offer from the downtown foodie scene to the incredible outdoor adventures. Brian is a local real estate broker and enjoys getting to know the local community as well as those that are moving here. We love touring houses and learning more about each of the unique communities surrounding the Portland area. Brian and I have both grown up here and know what makes Portland truly special. Why Maya chose Brooklyn

I am in love with older homes! I purchased this duplex in order to restore its original glory and live in it myself. We have remodeled and lived in the upstairs apartment (the VRBO) and love the look, feel and craftsmanship of this house. We chose this house because we love being close to downtown and all that Portland has to offer. This duplex offered the ease of living/working downtown whilst also avoiding the common problems that come with. The neighborhood is friendly, quiet and kids play in the streets yet it is only a quick trip to enjoy the more lively nightlife on Division st.

What makes this bungalow unique

From the moment you walk up this house will embrace and surprise you. Made by a craftsman in 1908 for his beloved daughter, it has a classic Dutch Colonial style. Enjoy the little touches like a small patio off of your kitchen or the clawfoot tub.

This apartment has a steep set of wooden stairs exposed to the apartment. Be cautious with small children. This apartment is close to many attractions and destinations including: Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge, the Springwater Corridor Trail, OMSI, OHSU, Reed College, Waverley Country Club, Portland State University and Lewis and Clark University. We also have abundant grocery stores nearby from New Seasons Market to the People's Food Co-op and the Warehouse Cafe. Convenient public bus stops are located on Powell Blvd (5 blocks) and Milwaukie Blvd (1 block) from the bus, you can access anywhere in the Portland area. The Max train will run about 4 blocks away and is the most convenient way to get downtown. Just hop on and hop off downtown. This is a Historic house. If you enjoy seeing how Portlanders live, this is your spot.

Charming Apartment, Great Location

We greatly enjoyed staying in this charming duplex apartment for four nights. The apartment was well equipped for cooking and relaxing and was an easy one-bus ride to downtown. Quiet neighborhood with a nearby restaurant, coffee shops, and small grocery stores. It would be an excellent location if you were planning to see a show at the Apollo Theater. What we most loved about the apartment was the small balcony with a bistro table and chairs located just outside the kitchen. It was great to see another side of Portland since we usually stay downtown when we visit. The owners were very responsive to questions and clearly wanted to make our visit enjoyable. We would definitely stay there again.

Perfect for our family of 4

Comfortable beds, great location, cozy apartment. Had everything we needed. Maya immediately responded if we needed anything. I would stay here again if we come back to Portland. It was wonderful.

Nice location and great rental

Stayed here for 4 midweek nights in the first week of June. Rental was clean and delivered on all promised amenities. Location was a $15, 15 minute Uber to all the downtown hotspots (Google said transit was about 40 mins but we never used it). I expected more out of the neighbourhood in terms of nightlife so next time I would probably stay on the west side of the river but for my first time in Portland this was a great central location for driving everywhere we wanted to go. Bed was huge and comfy and it was great having AC in the bedroom. House has lots of character, which comes with lots of noises too, but everyone respected the quiet hours while we were there. Would recommend to friends and could see myself staying here again.

Nice comfy place.

Stayed here over the Christmas holiday end it was just perfect. Has enough kitchen stuff To cook our own meals and during the Christmas snowstorm was warm and toasty.

Hipster paradise, cool, and cozy

This fun apartment is nestled in a really cool neighborhood of Portland. Easy access to downtown. Cool bars and restaurants within walking or biking distance. And such a cool vibe. Indian art on the walls. Huge vintage map of Portland and a huge huge huge comfy bed! All of it is amazing!

Great and simple stay historic duplex in great location!

I scheduled our 4 day, 3 night trip to Portland with Maya months in advance and she was great to work with. The small space worked just fine with our family of 5 - my wife and I, our 5 yr old, 2.5 yr old, and 4.5 month old. The duplex unit is definitely an older feel than what we are used to, but we went in expecting some old quirks. It really did the trick for our family and provided everything we needed...a place to sleep, a full kitchen, a bathroom, etc. The location is great and a quick drive to everything around town. We had a great time and had no issues. There was a washer/dryer available that we did not use. We didn't use any of the available kitchenware....just the fridge, bathroom, linens, beds...pretty simple! Would definitely recommend staying here....simple and no frills!
