We have lived in Sarasota for over 35 years. Love the beach and warm weather but have come to appreciate the cultural attractions that Sarasota has to offer and enjoy the many dining options as well.
Maureen or Matt Morris purchased this cottage in 2015
It's a great get-a-way spot close to the beach and attractions but still has a quiet and residential feeling. Feels like you live here!
Best location - large cottage for up to 6 - beach bikes - quiet - private.
We rented this cottage for my sisters to stay in while attending a wedding in Sarasota. We found the cottage in pristine condition, comfortable, tastefully decorated, bright and airy. It felt very spacious for 4 people and we also enjoyed sitting outside in the front of the cottage. Every possible amenity was provided and much appreciated. It is located on a quiet residential street, a 5 min walk to the beach, and 15 min into St. Armands Circle. We would would love to come back and spend a month!
This is an historic cottage (one of a number - 7?) built by Ringling for his staff in the 1920s. It has two bedrooms, and two bathrooms with a washer/dryer in the second bathroom. The space could not be more efficiently used, in a good way. The bedrooms are smallish, but the living and dining areas are generous and comfortable. There has clearly been a recent renovation, and the kitchen in particular seems nearly new. I don't want to reiterate information already provided by the owner, but it looks like many new systems, including A/C and major appliances, and again the overall effect is great comfort in a cottage, a tribute to the designer and decorator. We enjoyed the quirkiness of some of the furniture; overall, the effect was comfort and utility. In the kitchen, our only criticism has to do with the cooking utensils (not pots and pans so much as spatulas and stirrers etc) (A thought: there is a new spice store in St Armands Circle, and one wonders if they could assemble a set of common spices and herbs for VRBO landlords to stock for renters' use?) The cottage is an easy walk to Lido Beach to the West, and not much further to St. Armands Circle to the North or the park to the South.
Matt an Maureen's Lido Cottage was everything we were hoping for and more. It was like our very own beach cottage. Everything was clean and well taken care of. The location was within walking distance of the beach and St. Armands Circle. Communication was great from booking through departure. We will definitely stay here again! Thank you Matt and Maureen!
Nice comfortable cottage in an excellent location. Really enjoyed our time at this cottage and on Lido Key. Can't wait to go back.
The cottage was not only moments away from St. Armand's circle, it was nestled very close to the beaches of Lido Key. The owners clearly take good care of the cottage as the home was extremely clean and had all the amenities we could need...and then some! This was the perfect place for our family's weekend get-a-way.
We absolutely loved this charming little cottage. Pictures in VRBO don't do it any justice..it's much prettier! It was a birthday getaway weekend for a group of nurses and therapists in palliative care. We noted every little detail in the home..well done! It has a pull out couch in the living room, 2 full beds in the second bedroom and another in the main. The kitchen was well-stacked with condiments, etc. The only setback was that the second bedroom tended to get warm as the fan needed to run faster, especially for menopausal women! Schwarzenegger was right..we'd be BACK!
It's a beach location plus so much more: shopping and fine dining on world famous St Armand's Circle, The Ringling Museum and residence tours, Marie Selby Gardens, many golf courses, downtown Sarasota for shopping and restaurants of every kind, Sarasota Opera, the Asolo Theater, Florida Studio Theater and Kayak rentals just 2 blocks away on the bayside.
