Garden Cottage in Bishopton with private parking

Sleeping 4, in two bedrooms, this former coach house is set in the mature garden of a Victorian villa, two minutes from the railway station. Trains run frequently to Glasgow Central and, in the other direction, to Gourock and Wemyss Bay. By car, Glasgow International Airport is ten minutes away, as is the Erskine Bridge, with its access to the scenic North Clyde west coast, Loch Lomond, and many other famous Scottish beauty spots.

Accommodation

Open plan living/dining/kitchen. The kitchen is well-equipped with dish-washer, oven, hob, washing-machine, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster and electric kettle and cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. The dining area has table and chairs and the living area, with French doors leading to garden, has a comfortable couch, coffee table, easy chair, TV /DVD and bookshelves.

Bedroom 1 (downstairs) has a dressing room with hanging rails and a separate en-suite shower room. It is furnished with a king-size bed, bedside tables, chest of drawers and two-seater sofa.

Bedroom two (upstairs) has twin beds, bedside tables and a chest of drawers. There is a small bathroom en-suite.

Also upstairs is a sitting room with a wardrobe, large sofa, lamp tables, coffee table and TV.

In the entrance hall there’s a warm cupboard for coats.

This cottage is ideal for young families and for over 60s. Cars can be parked at the door. Because of the proximity of local shops (small general store, Post Office, bank and fruit shop - all a couple of minutes’ walk) and on-line deliveries (Tesco, Sainsburys) there’s truly no need of a car. The train service is excellent and the Glasgow train takes you into the centre, with no parking problems.

For larger groups, the cottage can be booked with Bishopton Apartment, if available.

Not what we anticipated

Rotten potatoes and mushrooms in one of the drawers, crisps strewn over another with chocolate cookies left who knows how long. Frying pan with handle falling off. Tap handle comes off, no soap or toiletries. No folder to tell you about the place. Dishes not clean. To be fair I notified the owner and she had someone bring a new frying pan and soap also dishwasher tabs and gave me a refund of 50 pounds.

Excellent Property

Everything about our stay was exceptional. Beth, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with and the property was immaculately clean. It is extremely well located in that it is only 2 minutes away from the rail station and trains run every few minutes to Glasgow. It is also in a lovely, tranquil spot yet is only minutes from Glasgow Airport. Our grandchildren loved the swing and the chute in the garden and the security of the garden makes it a great place for a family. We will definitely stay again and will recommend to others.

Perfect for us

This home was the perfect place for us to stay during our time in Scotland. With the upstairs area it had two separate living spaces for all of us to be able to relax. The house had everything needed to enjoy the stay including books on the bookshelf in living room. This home sits on the back of the property so very private with very littlle noise. We had a rental car which was handy for going to the grocery store plus we had a very early flight out but a rental car is not necessary with train station within a two minute walk. The train was very convenient and can take you all over Scotland (check routes for the places you want to visit). Owners were great! Thank you Beth and Lis!

Bishopton, cottage stay.

We had a great stay in the coach house. Very convenient location and well equipped, decorated. Etc. would definitely recommend it to others.

The owner was friendly, made a point of saying hello (as she was unable to meet us on arrival).

As our arrangements were made from overseas we appreciated that it all worked out so smoothly.
