Garden Cottage Bishopton

Bedrooms 2
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 3 - 4 nights

About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 4

Garden Cottage in Bishopton with private parking

Sleeping 4, in two bedrooms, this former coach house is set in the mature garden of a Victorian villa, two minutes from the railway station. Trains run frequently to Glasgow Central and, in the other direction, to Gourock and Wemyss Bay. By car, Glasgow International Airport is ten minutes away, as is the Erskine Bridge, with its access to the scenic North Clyde west coast, Loch Lomond, and many other famous Scottish beauty spots.

Open plan living/dining/kitchen. The kitchen is well-equipped with dish-washer, oven, hob, washing-machine, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster and electric kettle and cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. The dining area has table and chairs and the living area, with French doors leading to garden, has a comfortable couch, coffee table, easy chair, TV /DVD and bookshelves.

Bedroom 1 (downstairs) has a dressing room with hanging rails and a separate en-suite shower room. It is furnished with a king-size bed, bedside tables, chest of drawers and two-seater sofa.

Bedroom two (upstairs) has twin beds, bedside tables and a chest of drawers. There is a small bathroom en-suite.

Also upstairs is a sitting room with a wardrobe, large sofa, lamp tables, coffee table and TV.

In the entrance hall there’s a warm cupboard for coats.

This cottage is ideal for young families and for over 60s. Cars can be parked at the door. Because of the proximity of local shops (small general store, Post Office, bank and fruit shop - all a couple of minutes’ walk) and on-line deliveries (Tesco, Sainsburys) there’s truly no need of a car. The train service is excellent and the Glasgow train takes you into the centre, with no parking problems.

For larger groups, the cottage can be booked with Bishopton Apartment, if available.

Great cottage with alot of privacy.

  • 5 of 5

Not far from the rail station and alittle store on the corner which is great. This cottage is behind the owners house. It is a very clean and nice place to stay. We had a total of four people in the cottage which is fine. The cottage had alot of windows and had cable tv. In Bishopton there is not any water bugs which was great. I would recommend this cottage to my friends. Steve and Sharon Cureton

Garden cottage was very cosy and very homely. we were made to feel very welcome upon arrival and enjoyed our stay at garden cottage. it had everything we needed, even toys and a highchair for our 2 year old, and was very clean. We would definitely stay here again.

Not what we anticipated

  • 2 of 5

Rotten potatoes and mushrooms in one of the drawers, crisps strewn over another with chocolate cookies left who knows how long. Frying pan with handle falling off. Tap handle comes off, no soap or toiletries. No folder to tell you about the place. Dishes not clean. To be fair I notified the owner and she had someone bring a new frying pan and soap also dishwasher tabs and gave me a refund of 50 pounds.

Owner's Response: Dear Elizabeth As I said in my immediate response to your email, I was completely shocked to hear about the food being left in the drawer. I immediately contacted my cleaners who were extremely sorry to have missed checking every drawer. This will not happen again. My Mum Lis (the owner) is normally who checks the clean, she always makes sure everywhere in the cottage is immaculate, looking in every drawer and cupboard and checking the dishes, unfortunately she was away for the weekend & the lady who met you & who came round the same day you emailed me, with a new frying pan, soap & food menus had inspected everywhere and had told me that the cottage looked immaculate after the cleaners, unfortunately she didn't look in the kitchen drawers and cupboards. She was devastated to hear of your email and we immediately tried to put things right for you. Cleaning is included in our modest prices, unlike many holiday lets where cleaning is charged additionally. We provide many extras - dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, kitchen towel, toilet roll, cleaning products, soap, welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, sugar & biscuits (all at no extra cost) so that guests don't have to shop for what we consider to be essentials. We don't provide the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel as guests usually bring their personal favourites. There should have been liquid soap at each sink and bar soap at bath and shower. We have taken on board your comment about an information folder, as I also explained in my reply to your email there used to be an information folder in the cottage which was removed, I will get a new one put into the cottage. I did make some suggestions of attractions close by and I said not to hesitate to contact me if I could help you with any further suggestions, I didn't hear anything from you. Thank you for acknowledging in your review that I did immediately respond with a goodwill partial refund, a new frying pan to replace the one that had a wobbly handle, soap & dishwasher tablets. Despite all of the favourable 5 star reviews we have received in the past for Garden Cottage, we are constantly striving to make our properties better still and we are never complacent. I hope when you look back on your time at Garden Cottage you will remember its many charms! Kind regards Beth

Excellent Property

  • 5 of 5

Everything about our stay was exceptional. Beth, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with and the property was immaculately clean. It is extremely well located in that it is only 2 minutes away from the rail station and trains run every few minutes to Glasgow. It is also in a lovely, tranquil spot yet is only minutes from Glasgow Airport. Our grandchildren loved the swing and the chute in the garden and the security of the garden makes it a great place for a family. We will definitely stay again and will recommend to others.
