Property type chalet
Minimum Stay 7 nights

About the property

Waterside lodge by the estuary, with parking, garden, patio & superb views.

Waterside Lodge is a detached bijou residence located besides the Salcombe estuary, at Batson Creek. The lodge has recently been completely rebuilt and refurbished. There is a southerly facing garden. This is predominantly lawn, with some shrubs and borders, that go to the very edge of the creek. There is private parking for one vehicle and a public slipway by the entrance to the property.

The Lodge caters for 2 guests. It has a separate en-suite shower room with wash basin and WC. The rest of the property is open-plan incorporating a small bespoke kitchen, dining/living area plus sleeping area. There are large glazed doors leading onto the garden patio area, facing the estuary

The patio over looks the estuary. Being south facing, this receives sun for most of the day, making it a great space for relaxing, eating outside etc. The view is down the creek towards Salcombe and to open countryside.

Fantastic location, lovely view , beautiful and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We loved it. Relaxing on the terrace over looking Batson Creek as the tide came in was idyllic. A nice glass of wine and a few kettle crisps, perfect, where did that hour go !!! The accommodation is larger than we thought from the images and plenty of room for 2 people even with a suite case open on the floor for a bit of extra storage space.

The flat walk into town alongside the creek was an added bonus to help walk off the cream teas. Thoroughly recommended.

Extra mirror in living space would be a help for when we come back next year !

Cheers Jon & Helen

Lovely location

  • 4 of 5

Loved our stay, super little property in a beautiful peaceful location on the banks of Batson Creek. The only criticism we have is there is no freezer, not even a freezer section in the fridge and there are no opening windows. It was very hot when we were there and the only option was to leave the patio door open at night which is obviously not a good idea. We had a fabulous stay and would definitely go again. Salcombe is stunning, lots of beautiful beaches and places to visit and at night plenty of good restaurants and pubs.

Fabulous Position

  • 5 of 5

The position of this property is fantastic being right by the creek. You get the sun on the patio and garden from early morning until late in the evening. The lodge itself consists of one room with a separate shower room and is very comfortable. As other people have mentioned the parking space is invaluable. There are plenty of walks from the property including a 10 minute walk by the side of the creek into Salcombe. We had a very enjoyable week.

A lovely peaceful little retreat.

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful little lodge just a 10 minute walk from Salcombe.

Very quiet and peaceful which we loved.

The lodge had all the essentials you needed for self catering.

A big advantage is the lodge has its own parking space at the property .

Would definitely recommend if you want a quiet relaxing holiday.

Holiday home at the water's edge.

  • 4 of 5

An attractively presented little studio for two in a beautifully tranquil location. Set on the side of Batson Creek off the beautiful Salcombe estuary, there is interest for birders as the tides come and go exposing their feeding grounds on the mud flats. Superbly built property with timber floors and ceiling but lacking some homely essentials, particularly if self catering eg freezer or at least freezer box in fridge, improved lighting over kitchen work tops and cleaning tools. It is however, only a short walk into Salcombe if eating out. A beautiful patio and walled garden add to the pleasure of the the property IF the weather is good!
